Frame your credentials around enterprise delivery
GFT hires Project Managers to run complex software implementations for financial services clients. Certifications like PMP or PRINCE2 carry weight, but your application should foreground delivered programs, not just managed ones. Scope, stakeholder count, and budget ownership matter here.
Target GFT's financial services delivery practices
GFT organizes its work around banking, insurance, and capital markets clients. Positioning yourself toward those verticals, rather than applying as a generalist PM, signals fit with the accounts where most of their open roles sit.
Understand where H-1B fits your timeline
H-1B cap-subject petitions are filed once a year, with the lottery running in March for an October 1 start date. If GFT selects you after the filing window closes, your start date shifts to the following fiscal year. Build that into your negotiation.
Clarify sponsorship intent before the final round
GFT's recruiting process for Project Managers typically involves multiple stakeholder interviews. Raise visa sponsorship before you reach the offer stage, not after. Confirming the role is H-1B eligible early prevents late-stage misalignment on both sides.
Verify your prevailing wage against the LCA posting
Before accepting an offer, cross-reference the salary against the DOL's prevailing wage for your role level and work location. GFT must certify wage compliance on your Labor Condition Application, and your offered salary cannot fall below that threshold.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles efficiently
GFT posts Project Manager roles across multiple locations and business units. Use Migrate Mate to filter for open positions at GFT that are open to H-1B sponsorship, so you're not manually sifting through postings that won't support your visa status.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does GFT sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
Yes, GFT sponsors H-1B visas for Project Manager roles. GFT operates in the technology and financial services sector, where H-1B sponsorship for experienced project management professionals is a documented part of their hiring practice. If you're targeting a specific role, confirm sponsorship eligibility directly during the recruiting process, as not every position or location may qualify.
Which visa types are commonly used for Project Manager roles at GFT?
The H-1B is the primary nonimmigrant work visa used for Project Manager hires at GFT. Project management roles in enterprise software delivery typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards, which is the core H-1B eligibility requirement. Candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer may also explore H-1B transfers, which are not subject to the annual cap.
What qualifications or experience does GFT expect for Project Manager roles?
GFT's Project Manager roles in its financial services delivery practices typically require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, or business, combined with hands-on experience managing enterprise software implementations. Credentials like PMP or PRINCE2 are valued. Experience within banking, insurance, or capital markets clients is a meaningful differentiator, as GFT's work is concentrated in those verticals.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at GFT?
You can find and apply for Project Manager roles at GFT through Migrate Mate, which filters for positions open to visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect delivery scope and client-facing program leadership rather than administrative project coordination. GFT's interview process typically involves multiple rounds with both technical and business stakeholders, so prepare examples of complex cross-functional delivery.
How do I time my job search at GFT around the H-1B process?
H-1B petitions are filed with USCIS in April each year, with employment starting October 1 if selected. To give GFT enough lead time to prepare your petition, aim to secure an offer by February or early March. If you're already in the U.S. on a valid status such as OPT, a cap-exempt transfer may provide more flexibility on timing.
