Align your credentials to U.S. licensing expectations
GFT's Bridge Engineer roles sit at the intersection of civil engineering and technology. Document your engineering degree, any PE licensure progress, and software proficiencies like BIM or structural analysis tools before applications open, since H-1B specialty occupation approval depends on a clear degree-to-role match.
Target GFT's technology-integrated infrastructure pipeline
GFT consistently posts Bridge Engineer openings tied to digital delivery and smart infrastructure projects. Filter your job search to roles mentioning BIM coordination, CAD integration, or data-driven design, as these positions most directly reflect where GFT concentrates its engineering headcount.
Use Migrate Mate to track open Bridge Engineer roles
GFT's Bridge Engineer listings cycle frequently across regions. Use Migrate Mate to filter for open roles at GFT that explicitly support H-1B sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where the sponsorship pathway is already confirmed rather than assumed.
Clarify sponsorship intent before your final interview round
Ask GFT's recruiter directly whether the specific role has budget allocated for H-1B filing, not just whether the company sponsors in general. Roles within technology-focused delivery teams often have different approval chains than traditional infrastructure positions.
Prepare for the H-1B cap and April filing window
If you're not currently in H-1B status, your start date will depend on the annual lottery and October 1 cap-subject start. Time your offer negotiation so GFT's HR team can submit your registration in March, which requires having all your documentation ready no later than February.
Verify your DOL prevailing wage tier for engineering roles
USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation claims for Bridge Engineers. Confirm with GFT that your offered salary meets or exceeds the DOL prevailing wage for your geographic work location, since wage level mismatches are a common reason H-1B petitions for engineering roles receive requests for evidence.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does GFT sponsor H-1B visas for Bridge Engineers?
Yes, GFT sponsors H-1B visas for Bridge Engineers. The company operates in technology and software-driven infrastructure delivery, which supports the specialty occupation classification that H-1B requires. If you're targeting a specific role, confirm with the recruiter that the position has sponsorship approved, as authorization can vary by project team and location.
How do I apply for Bridge Engineer jobs at GFT?
You can find open Bridge Engineer positions at GFT through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship availability. Once you identify a relevant posting, apply directly through GFT's hiring portal and flag your work authorization status early in the process so the recruiting team can route your application to the right hiring manager.
Which visa types are commonly used for Bridge Engineer roles at GFT?
The H-1B is the primary visa for Bridge Engineers at GFT, given the role's specialty occupation requirements in civil or structural engineering. If you're already on OPT or STEM OPT, you can begin working while GFT files an H-1B petition on your behalf. Candidates with L-1 visa intracompany transfer eligibility from a GFT entity abroad may also have a separate pathway.
What qualifications does GFT expect for Bridge Engineer roles?
GFT's Bridge Engineer postings typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in civil or structural engineering, plus hands-on experience with bridge design, BIM software, or infrastructure delivery in a technology-integrated context. Candidates with PE licensure or progress toward it, and familiarity with tools like AutoCAD, OpenBridge, or Bentley, are better positioned for roles that require H-1B sponsorship justification.
How do I time my application around the H-1B filing process at GFT?
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for the fiscal year starting October 1. To meet that window, GFT's HR and legal teams need your completed documentation well in advance, which means accepting an offer and gathering credentials by late January or February. If you miss the cap, GFT may be able to place you at a cap-exempt affiliated institution as an interim path, though that depends on project availability.
