Align your portfolio to Adobe's engineering pillars
Adobe organizes engineering leadership around Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, and Experience Cloud. Tailor your resume to reflect which pillar your team-building and delivery experience maps to, so hiring managers see immediate relevance before your visa status comes up.
Request an LCA review before accepting an offer
Adobe files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before submitting your H-1B petition. Ask your recruiter which wage level your offer is benchmarked to, since Level I or II classifications on an EM role can create complications at the USCIS adjudication stage.
Verify your F-1 OPT timeline against Adobe's hiring cycle
Adobe's engineering manager hiring often runs on a structured headcount calendar. If you're on OPT with fewer than 90 days remaining, confirm your STEM extension eligibility with your DSO before your first recruiter screen to avoid gaps in work authorization during the offer process.
Search Adobe's open roles using Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate lets you filter Adobe's Engineering Manager openings by visa type, so you can prioritize roles where H-1B, E-3, or TN sponsorship is confirmed rather than spending time on positions with unclear sponsorship status.
Prepare credentials that meet Adobe's specialty occupation bar
USCIS requires Engineering Manager petitions to demonstrate a direct relationship between the role and a specific technical discipline. Have transcripts and a degree equivalency evaluation ready if your undergraduate degree is from outside the U.S., particularly for three-year programs from India or Australia.
Clarify Green Card sponsorship intent during late-stage interviews
For Engineering Managers at Adobe, PERM-based EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship is common but not automatic. Ask directly during the offer negotiation stage whether the role is eligible, since the PERM process must begin while your H-1B status remains valid to preserve your priority date.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Adobe sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Managers?
Yes, Adobe sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Manager roles. Adobe's immigration infrastructure is well-resourced, and sponsorship for senior technical leadership positions is consistent with how the company approaches international hiring. The H-1B petition must demonstrate that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, which Engineering Manager positions at Adobe typically satisfy given their technical degree requirements.
How do I apply for Engineering Manager jobs at Adobe?
Apply directly through Adobe's careers site or browse verified sponsoring roles on Migrate Mate, which filters for Engineering Manager positions where visa sponsorship is confirmed. Adobe's EM hiring process generally includes a recruiter screen, a technical leadership interview, and a cross-functional panel. Sponsorship conversations typically happen after the recruiter screen, so have your visa status ready to discuss early.
Which visa types does Adobe commonly use for Engineering Manager roles?
Adobe sponsors H-1B, E-3 visa (for Australian citizens), TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), and F-1 OPT or STEM OPT for candidates transitioning from student status. For longer-term sponsorship, Adobe supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through PERM for Engineering Managers who have been with the company for a qualifying period.
What qualifications does Adobe expect for Engineering Manager candidates?
Adobe typically expects a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, combined with hands-on engineering experience before moving into management. For visa purposes, USCIS requires the role to require a specific technical degree, so a non-technical degree combined with experience alone may require additional documentation like a credential evaluation or expert opinion letter.
How do I think about timing if I need Adobe to sponsor my H-1B?
If you're not currently in H-1B status, Adobe would need to enter you in the USCIS lottery, which runs once per year with registrations typically accepted in March and employment start dates no earlier than October 1. If you're already on H-1B with another employer, Adobe can file a transfer petition and you can begin work as soon as USCIS receives it, without waiting for approval.
