INTRODUCTION
Changing the world through digital experiences is what Adobe’s all about. We give everyone—from emerging artists to global brands—everything they need to design and deliver exceptional digital experiences! We’re passionate about empowering people to create beautiful and powerful images, videos, and apps, and transform how companies interact with customers across every screen. We’re on a mission to hire the very best and are committed to creating exceptional employee experiences where everyone is respected and has access to equal opportunity. We realize that new ideas can come from everywhere in the organization, and we know the next big idea could be yours!
THE OPPORTUNITY
We’re the market leader in software products and services that power the world’s creative, document, and marketing ecosystems — from Creative Cloud and Document Cloud to Firefly, Express, and Experience Cloud. Over 85% of the Fortune 2000 rely on Adobe to fuel creativity, collaboration, and transformation. As AI reshapes the creative and media landscape, Adobe stands at the intersection of creativity, marketing, and artificial intelligence — making us a trusted partner to CEOs, CMOs, CTOs, Studio executives, key talent and known directors as well as the next generation of creative and business leaders.
We are looking for an incredible individual to drive thought leadership, innovation, and commercial partnerships that inspire and accelerate enterprise adoption of GenAI in creativity, film, and enterprises. We’re looking for a rare hybrid — a technically fluent creative leader with deep roots in filmmaking, Hollywood, YouTube, or digital storytelling — who knows how to bridge art and technology to open doors, build partnerships, and create momentum in the market. This person will be equal parts technologist, storyteller, and dealmaker — passionate about shaping the future of creativity, and skilled at translating innovation into business impact. A successful candidate will have the technical AI chops to be respected by our engineering and researchers, strong c-level relationship building skills, an ability to rally internal cross-functional partners, and a founder mentality.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Ignite new business and partnerships: Lead Firefly Foundry engagements from concept to commercial deal, collaborating with Adobe’s enterprise sales and creative leadership teams.
Bridge creative vision with technology: Translate the needs of filmmakers, studios, creators, and brands into Foundry use cases that showcase “the art of the possible.”
Shape Adobe’s role in the entertainment and creator ecosystem: Build trusted relationships across studios, media companies, YouTube creators, agencies, and enterprise partners.
Advise and evangelize: Serve as a GenAI authority and creative industry leader with vision — presenting at customer meetings, partner events, and major conferences.
Collaborate across the enterprise: Work closely with Adobe Research, Firefly engineering, marketing, and product teams to test, validate, and influence future product directions.
Be hands-on: Prototype creative solutions, demo Firefly APIs and integrations, and bring ideas to life with tangible visual and storytelling proof points.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- 10+ years of experience across creative technology, media, entertainment, or enterprise partnerships.
- A strong mix of technical fluency (AI, creative tools, APIs, cloud platforms) and creative depth (film, video, digital storytelling, YouTube, or content production).
- Proven success launching or scaling products or experiences — ideally in a startup, 0→1, or innovation lab environment.
- A network in the entertainment and creator ecosystem — and the confidence to navigate C-suite, studio, and creator conversations.
- Entrepreneurial outlook: a “player-coach” who rolls up their sleeves and thrives in ambiguity.
- High EQ, low ego, and a natural ability to connect teams, ideas, and opportunities.
- Comfort operating as both strategist and creative technologist, who can drive both impact and storytelling.
- Great teammate (roll up your sleeves, adaptable work style, lead via influence, excellent “connector”).

Frame your portfolio around Adobe's product lines
Adobe hires Development Directors to lead teams across Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, and Experience Cloud. Align your portfolio to one of these verticals before applying, showing delivery ownership over software at similar scale, not just general engineering management experience.
Verify your degree meets specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires H-1B petitions to demonstrate the role requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher. For Development Director roles, a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field strengthens the specialty occupation argument significantly.
Target Adobe's enterprise and platform engineering teams
Development Director openings within Adobe's platform infrastructure and enterprise solutions groups tend to involve complex, multi-team delivery, which supports stronger H-1B and EB-2 petitions. Check Adobe's careers page and filter by engineering leadership to identify these postings.
Start your Green Card timeline at offer stage
Adobe has established PERM and EB-2 pathways for senior engineering leadership. Raise Green Card sponsorship during offer negotiation, not after onboarding. Priority dates can mean multi-year waits for nationals of India and China, so earlier filing directly affects your long-term status.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Development Director roles
Development Director openings at Adobe aren't always visible on standard job boards. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified sponsorship-eligible postings at Adobe, filtered by role and visa type, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare for a structured interview loop before filing begins
Adobe's hiring process for director-level engineering roles typically includes multiple rounds covering technical strategy, cross-functional leadership, and organizational design. Offer acceptance and I-129 filing happen after this loop, so budgeting eight to twelve weeks from first interview to petition submission is realistic.

Find Development Director at Adobe JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Adobe sponsor H-1B visas for Development Directors?
Yes, Adobe sponsors H-1B visas for Development Director roles. The company has an established immigration program that handles H-1B petitions for senior technical leadership positions. Because Development Director roles require specialized knowledge in software engineering and product delivery, they typically satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements without significant documentation challenges.
How do I apply for Development Director jobs at Adobe?
Applications go through Adobe's careers portal at adobe.com/careers. Filter by job function under engineering or technology leadership and search for director-level titles. You can also browse verified visa-sponsorship-eligible Development Director postings at Adobe through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles where sponsorship pathways are already confirmed.
Which visa types does Adobe commonly sponsor for Development Directors?
Adobe sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT for Development Director roles, with H-1B being the most common pathway for this level. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Adobe supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions through the PERM labor certification process. J-1 and F-1 CPT are less common at the director level but have been used.
What qualifications does Adobe expect for a Development Director role?
Adobe typically expects a bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, combined with substantial experience leading multi-team engineering organizations. At the director level, candidates are expected to demonstrate ownership over product delivery, cross-functional collaboration, and experience scaling engineering teams within a complex software environment comparable to Adobe's product portfolio.
How do I plan my timeline if Adobe sponsors my H-1B as a Development Director?
Standard H-1B processing with USCIS takes three to five months after filing. Adobe typically files petitions ahead of the October 1 cap-year start date for new hires needing H-1B status. If you're already in the U.S. on a valid status such as F-1 OPT, you may be able to start work sooner under a cap-gap extension while the petition is pending.
