Align your credentials to STV's project portfolio
STV focuses heavily on public infrastructure and transit systems. Frame your resume around project delivery experience in transportation, bridges, or rail rather than commercial construction. USCIS requires specialty occupation evidence, so degree-to-role alignment matters at the petition stage.
Target STV's regional offices strategically
STV staffs Construction Engineer roles across multiple regional offices tied to active public agency contracts. Applying to locations with funded transit or highway programs increases your odds, since those offices have active hiring pipelines and established sponsorship workflows.
Get your EIT or PE licensure documents ready early
Many Construction Engineer roles at consulting firms like STV require or strongly prefer an Engineer-in-Training certification or Professional Engineer license. Have your NCEES records, transcripts, and any credential evaluations for foreign degrees prepared before your interview.
Find and filter open STV roles on Migrate Mate
Construction Engineer openings at STV that come with sponsorship can be hard to surface through general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for STV roles that support your visa type so you're only applying where sponsorship is confirmed.

Find Construction Engineer at STV JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does STV sponsor H-1B visas for Construction Engineers?
Yes, STV sponsors H-1B visas for Construction Engineer roles. As a professional services firm working on public infrastructure contracts, STV has an established process for supporting visa petitions. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, timing matters, so confirm your eligibility window with the recruiter before your offer is finalized.
How do I apply for Construction Engineer jobs at STV?
You can find Construction Engineer openings at STV through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm support before applying. When you apply, tailor your materials to STV's infrastructure and transit project work. Highlight relevant project delivery experience, any licensure credentials, and your current work authorization status upfront.
Which visa types does STV commonly use for Construction Engineers?
STV sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Construction Engineer roles. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals with a qualifying engineering degree. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship.
What qualifications does STV expect for Construction Engineer roles?
STV typically looks for a bachelor's degree in civil, structural, or construction engineering from an accredited program. For visa purposes, the degree must align directly with the role to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements. Practical experience in transportation or infrastructure projects, familiarity with public agency standards, and progress toward EIT or PE licensure strengthen your application.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Construction Engineer at STV?
Timeline depends on which visa category applies to you. H-1B cap filings follow a fixed annual cycle with an October 1 start date. TN status for Canadians can be obtained at a port of entry within days. USCIS premium processing for H-1B petitions shortens adjudication to 15 business days once filed. Build at least three to four months into your planning if a new petition is required.
