Align your credentials to STV's project portfolio
STV operates across transportation, infrastructure, and building sectors. Before applying, map your project management experience to their active verticals, transit systems, highway design, or facilities. A PMP certification strengthens your case significantly for this consulting environment.
Confirm your visa type before the offer stage
STV sponsors multiple visa categories for Project Managers. Know which category fits your situation before interviews begin, whether that's H-1B, TN, OPT, or CPT, so you can address sponsorship directly without slowing down the offer process.
Search open roles by project type on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter STV's Project Manager openings by location and project sector. This lets you target roles that match your technical background, so your application reaches the right hiring team rather than a general queue.
Treat the LCA as a timeline anchor
For H-1B sponsorship, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can process the petition. Factor in DOL's seven-business-day standard processing window when negotiating your start date with STV's HR team.
Document your specialty occupation evidence thoroughly
USCIS scrutinizes project management roles as specialty occupations. Prepare documentation showing your role requires a specific bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, construction management, or a related field, not just general business administration experience.
Target STV offices tied to active federal contracts
STV's consulting pipeline is often driven by state and federal infrastructure programs. Offices staffing active DOT or transit authority contracts tend to have ongoing hiring needs for Project Managers, making them higher-probability targets for sponsored positions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does STV sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
Yes, STV sponsors H-1B visas for Project Manager roles. Because project management in a consulting and infrastructure context typically requires a specialized degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, these positions generally meet USCIS's specialty occupation standard. Your employer will need to file a Labor Condition Application with DOL and then submit the H-1B petition to USCIS.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at STV?
You can browse and apply for Project Manager openings at STV directly through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can identify roles that match your authorization needs. When applying, tailor your resume to STV's project sectors, such as transit, highway, or building programs, and be prepared to discuss your sponsorship requirements early in the recruiter screening process.
Which visa types does STV commonly use for Project Manager roles?
STV sponsors a range of visa categories for Project Manager positions, including H-1B, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering and management roles, F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing STEM-adjacent programs, J-1 visa for eligible exchange visitors, and immigrant pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for candidates pursuing permanent residence through employer sponsorship.
What qualifications does STV expect for sponsored Project Manager roles?
STV's Project Manager positions in consulting and infrastructure typically require a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a closely related technical field. Relevant certifications like PMP are valued. Candidates are generally expected to demonstrate experience managing multi-discipline project teams, coordinating with public agency clients, and delivering projects within defined scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
How do I think about timing if I'm on F-1 OPT and targeting STV?
If you're working under F-1 OPT and targeting STV for H-1B sponsorship, the April 1 H-1B filing window is your key deadline. USCIS requires registration in March for that fiscal year's cap. If your OPT expires before October 1, you'll need Cap-Gap protection, which extends your work authorization automatically once an H-1B petition is filed on your behalf.
