Align your credentials to PMP or PMI standards
GHD Project Manager roles in consulting and infrastructure consistently list PMP certification or equivalent as a strong differentiator. If your credentials are from outside the U.S., get an evaluation from a NACES-approved agency before applying.
Target GHD's infrastructure and advisory service lines
GHD's Project Manager openings cluster around water, transportation, and environmental consulting. Framing your experience around capital project delivery in those sectors puts your application in front of the teams most likely to initiate sponsorship.
Clarify your visa category early in recruiter conversations
GHD sponsors multiple visa types, so specifying whether you need H-1B, TN, or OPT extension support upfront helps recruiters route your application correctly. Ambiguity about your status can stall or derail offers before they reach the legal team.
Understand how PERM timelines affect your start date
If you're targeting a Green Card pathway through EB-2 or EB-3, GHD typically initiates PERM after a period of employment. DOL processing timelines run long, so factor that into your overall career planning when negotiating your offer.
Use Migrate Mate to filter GHD Project Manager openings by visa type
GHD posts Project Manager roles across multiple U.S. regions and service lines at any given time. Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles specifically by the visa categories GHD sponsors, so you're only applying to positions where your status is a fit.
Confirm your OPT STEM extension eligibility before your cap-gap window
If you're on F-1 OPT and GHD files an H-1B for you, the cap-gap provision protects your work authorization between OPT expiry and October 1. Verify your I-20 reflects a STEM-eligible degree and that USCIS has your H-1B receipt before your OPT end date.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does GHD sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
GHD does sponsor H-1B visas for Project Manager roles. Because H-1B requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, GHD's Project Manager roles in engineering, environmental consulting, and infrastructure advisory typically satisfy that standard given their technical degree requirements. Your application should make the connection between your degree field and the specific project scope explicit.
Which visa types does GHD commonly sponsor for Project Manager roles?
GHD sponsors across several categories for Project Managers, including H-1B, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, J-1 visa, and permanent residence pathways through EB-2 and EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and career stage. TN visa is often the fastest path for qualified Canadian and Mexican nationals given it bypasses the H-1B lottery.
What qualifications and experience does GHD expect for Project Manager roles?
GHD's Project Manager postings in consulting and infrastructure typically require a bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related technical field, plus several years of project delivery experience. PMP certification is frequently listed as preferred. Sector-specific experience in water, transportation, or environmental consulting strengthens your candidacy considerably over general project management backgrounds.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at GHD?
You can browse and apply for GHD Project Manager roles through Migrate Mate, which filters open positions by the visa types GHD sponsors so you only see roles where your immigration status is a match. GHD's hiring process typically includes a recruiter screen, technical or behavioral interviews, and an offer stage where visa requirements are confirmed with their legal or HR team.
How do I plan my timeline if GHD is sponsoring my visa for a Project Manager role?
Timeline depends heavily on your visa category. H-1B sponsorship is tied to the April lottery and October 1 start date, so factor in several months between offer and authorization. TN processing at the border can happen same-day for eligible candidates. PERM-based Green Card pathways through EB-2 or EB-3 involve DOL and USCIS processing that runs well beyond your start date, so those typically begin after you're already employed.
