Align your credentials with PE licensure expectations
Garver's Project Manager roles in engineering consulting often favor candidates with or pursuing a Professional Engineer license. Confirm your degree equivalency is documented before applying, since USCIS requires a U.S. bachelor's equivalent for specialty occupation classification under H-1B.
Target Garver's regional office locations strategically
Garver operates offices across the South, Midwest, and Southwest, and Project Manager openings are distributed unevenly across those locations. Applying to offices in states with active infrastructure work increases your odds of landing a role with active hiring authority.
Search open Project Manager roles through Migrate Mate
Garver posts Project Manager openings across multiple locations with varying seniority levels. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Garver roles that have visa sponsorship attached, so you're only applying where sponsorship has been confirmed rather than assumed.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Garver sponsors multiple visa categories including H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT extensions. Ask your recruiter explicitly which category applies to your situation before signing an offer letter, since TN and OPT pathways have different timelines and renewal structures than an H-1B cap filing.
Prepare a project portfolio that reflects infrastructure work
Garver's consulting focus means interviewers for Project Manager roles expect demonstrated experience managing civil or environmental engineering projects. Organize your work samples around scope, schedule, and budget ownership to match how the company evaluates candidates at this level.
Understand where PERM fits your long-term path
If you're targeting permanent residence through EB-2 or EB-3, Garver's willingness to initiate PERM matters. Ask during the negotiation phase whether the company has a policy on sponsoring Green Card applications after a defined tenure, since PERM timelines at DOL can run 12 months or longer.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Garver sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
Yes, Garver sponsors H-1B visas for Project Manager roles. Because H-1B requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, you'll need a bachelor's degree or higher in a field directly related to the role. Garver's engineering and infrastructure focus means most Project Manager openings meet that threshold, particularly for candidates with civil, environmental, or structural engineering backgrounds.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at Garver?
Applications go through Garver's careers portal, where you can filter by role type and location. Before applying, confirm the posting supports visa sponsorship, since not every opening does. Migrate Mate lets you browse Garver's Project Manager listings with sponsorship already filtered, so you can focus your effort on positions where your immigration needs are actually supported.
Which visa types does Garver commonly use for Project Manager roles?
Garver has sponsored H-1B, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1 visa, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for this function. TN visa is available specifically to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering occupations. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates, often transitioning to H-1B sponsorship once the cap-subject filing window opens.
What qualifications does Garver expect for Project Manager roles?
Garver's Project Manager openings in consulting typically require a degree in engineering or a related technical discipline, along with demonstrated experience managing project budgets, client relationships, and subconsultant coordination. Candidates pursuing a Professional Engineer license or who already hold one are competitive. Leadership experience on infrastructure projects, whether transportation, water, or facilities, carries significant weight in the evaluation process.
How do I time my application around H-1B cap filing deadlines?
H-1B cap registrations open in March each year for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, your employment authorization needs to cover you through that transition. Starting your Garver job search in the fall or early winter gives you enough lead time to secure an offer, allow Garver's immigration counsel to prepare the petition, and submit before the registration window closes.
