Align Your Credentials to PE Licensure Expectations
Garver's engineering leadership roles frequently prefer or require a Professional Engineer license. Before applying, confirm whether your credentials are eligible for state licensure reciprocity or whether you'll need to sit the PE exam in the U.S.
Target Garver Offices in High-Growth Service Areas
Garver operates across aviation, water, and transportation sectors. Focus your search on offices handling active infrastructure contracts, since project-driven hiring means Engineering Team Lead openings open and close quickly based on contract awards.
Search Garver's Open Roles Through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Engineering Team Lead openings at Garver by visa type. This surfaces roles where sponsorship has already been confirmed, saving you from applying to positions where the hiring team hasn't budgeted for immigration support.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope Before the Offer Stage
Consulting firms like Garver often sponsor H-1B transfers but may approach PERM-based Green Card sponsorship differently depending on role classification. Raise immigration support expectations during the final interview round, not after you receive an offer letter.
Prepare a Client-Facing Project Portfolio in Advance
Engineering Team Lead roles at consulting firms involve direct client interaction and billable delivery. Documenting two or three examples of cross-disciplinary projects you've led strengthens both your application and the specialty occupation case USCIS evaluates during H-1B adjudication.
Understand How TN Status Applies to Engineering Roles
If you're a Canadian or Mexican citizen, the TN visa category covers engineers and can be obtained at the port of entry without waiting on USCIS processing. Confirm with Garver's HR team that your specific engineering discipline and degree align with TN requirements before your start date.

Find Engineering Team Lead at Garver JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Garver sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Team Leads?
Yes, Garver sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Team Lead positions. As a consulting and professional services firm, Garver regularly files H-1B petitions for engineering roles that meet USCIS specialty occupation standards. If you're already on an H-1B with another employer, Garver can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start work as soon as USCIS receives the petition.
How do I apply for Engineering Team Lead jobs at Garver?
You can apply directly through Garver's careers portal or browse confirmed sponsorship openings on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type so you can see positions where immigration support is already on the table. Engineering Team Lead roles at Garver typically require relevant engineering experience, so tailor your application to highlight project leadership and technical delivery specific to Garver's core service areas.
Which visa types does Garver commonly use for Engineering Team Lead roles?
Garver sponsors H-1B visas for most engineering hires requiring a petition-based process. F-1 OPT and CPT are supported for recent graduates transitioning into full-time roles. TN status is an option for Canadian and Mexican citizens in qualifying engineering disciplines. For longer-term pathways, Garver has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories, which typically require PERM labor certification filed through the DOL.
What qualifications does Garver expect for Engineering Team Lead positions?
Garver generally looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline, meaningful years of post-graduate experience, and demonstrated ability to lead technical teams on client-facing projects. Many roles favor candidates who hold or are pursuing a Professional Engineer license. Project delivery experience in Garver's service verticals, such as aviation, water infrastructure, or transportation, strengthens a candidacy considerably.
How do I time my visa sponsorship process when joining Garver?
Timing depends on your current status. H-1B transfers are efficient since you can begin work upon USCIS receipt of the petition. If you're on OPT, confirm your remaining authorized period covers Garver's onboarding timeline and factor in STEM OPT extension eligibility if you need more runway. For new H-1B cap-subject petitions, the annual lottery opens in March with an October 1 start date, so plan your offer and negotiations accordingly.
