Target technical and engineering roles first
Garver's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical disciplines where specialty occupation requirements are clear-cut. Focus your applications on engineering, design, and project management roles to maximize your chances of securing a sponsored position.
Understand Garver's Green Card pathway
Garver has a track record of sponsoring both H-1B visas and permanent residency, suggesting it supports long-term retention. Ask recruiters early whether a role comes with a Green Card pathway, it's a meaningful signal of employer commitment.
Leverage the employee-owned culture in your application
Garver's employee-ownership model means staff stability and long-term investment matter deeply. Emphasizing career commitment and growth potential in your application aligns well with how Garver evaluates candidates, including those requiring sponsorship.
Apply early in Garver's recruiting cycle for H-1B cap timing
H-1B cap filings happen once a year in April. Engaging with Garver's recruiters well before the new year gives enough lead time for the employer to prepare your petition before the registration window opens.
OPT and CPT holders have a clear on-ramp
Garver sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, making it accessible for international students still completing degrees or in their post-graduation work authorization window. Securing an OPT role at Garver is a practical route toward future H-1B sponsorship.
Search for Garver openings through a verified sponsor database
Not all job listings disclose sponsorship availability upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, making it easier to identify current Garver openings where international candidates are genuinely considered.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Garver sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Garver sponsors H-1B visas. The company has a consistent track record of filing H-1B petitions, primarily for technical and engineering roles that meet specialty occupation requirements. If you're targeting Garver for H-1B sponsorship, focus on roles where a specific degree in a relevant field is a stated requirement, not just preferred.
What visa types does Garver sponsor?
Garver sponsors a range of visa types including H-1B, TN visa, J-1 visa, and F-1 OPT and CPT for work authorization. On the permanent residency side, Garver also sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards. This breadth suggests the company supports both near-term work authorization and longer-term immigration pathways for qualifying employees.
Which roles and departments at Garver are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Garver is most common in roles that qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards. Engineering disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, and environmental tend to be the strongest fit. Project management, planning, and technical consulting roles within Garver's infrastructure practice areas are also viable candidates for sponsorship consideration.
What is the typical timeline for visa sponsorship at Garver?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B sponsorship follows the annual cap cycle, with petitions filed in April for an October 1 start. TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals can be processed more quickly at the border or consulate. OPT and CPT authorizations operate on student-specific timelines. Engaging with Garver's recruiting team early gives you the best chance of hitting the right filing window.
How do I find open positions at Garver that include visa sponsorship?
The most reliable approach is to search through a platform that tracks actual sponsorship history rather than relying solely on job listing disclaimers. Migrate Mate lets you browse open roles at verified sponsors like Garver, filtered by visa type and sponsorship track record. This helps you prioritize applications at companies with a demonstrated history of filing for international candidates.
