Frame your PMP credentials for Garver
Garver's Program Manager roles sit at the intersection of engineering consulting and client delivery. Highlighting a PMP certification alongside infrastructure or civil project experience signals you meet the technical threshold that triggers sponsorship conversations faster.
Target Garver's regional office openings
Garver operates across multiple U.S. regions, and Program Manager postings vary by office. Applying to locations with active project pipelines, rather than headquarters only, improves your odds of landing a role with a hiring manager who has budget and sponsorship authority.
Clarify your OPT or TN timeline upfront
If you're on F-1 OPT or TN status, tell your recruiter your authorization end date early. Garver sponsors across multiple visa categories, so a clear timeline lets them sequence the H-1B filing or PERM process without last-minute complications.
Understand how PERM affects your offer timing
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card paths require a PERM labor certification filed with DOL before the immigrant petition. For Program Manager roles at a consulting firm like Garver, this process can run concurrently with your employment, but you need the employer to commit early.
Use Migrate Mate to find current openings
Program Manager roles at Garver appear across different practice areas and rotate frequently. Use Migrate Mate to filter Garver's active listings by visa type so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed, not guessing from the job description.
Prepare a portfolio of delivered project outcomes
Garver's consulting clients expect documented results. Before your interview, quantify scope, budget management, and stakeholder outcomes from past projects. This evidence directly supports the specialty occupation standard USCIS evaluates during H-1B adjudication for professional services roles.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Garver sponsor H-1B visas for Program Managers?
Yes, Garver sponsors H-1B visas for Program Manager roles. As an engineering and consulting firm, Garver regularly hires international professionals in project and program management functions and supports the H-1B petition process through USCIS. If you're already on H-1B status with another employer, Garver can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start work once the petition is received.
How do I apply for Program Manager jobs at Garver?
Apply directly through Garver's careers portal, where listings are organized by practice area and location. Tailor your resume to emphasize infrastructure project delivery, cross-functional team leadership, and client-facing consulting experience. You can also browse Garver's current Program Manager openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which surfaces only roles where sponsorship is available.
Which visa types does Garver commonly use for Program Manager roles?
Garver sponsors H-1B, TN visa, J-1 visa, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Program Manager positions, and also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. H-1B is the most common path for full-time hires. TN visa works if you're a Canadian or Mexican national in a qualifying management or engineering category. F-1 OPT is typically a bridge while a longer-term petition is being prepared.
What qualifications does Garver expect for sponsored Program Manager positions?
Garver typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field, combined with demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary projects in a consulting or infrastructure environment. PMP certification strengthens your application. USCIS requires that H-1B Program Manager roles meet the specialty occupation standard, so your degree field and job duties need to align clearly in the petition.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Program Manager at Garver?
For H-1B transfers or cap-exempt filings, USCIS standard processing runs several months, with premium processing available to reduce that to 15 business days. New H-1B cap-subject petitions are tied to the annual lottery, with an October 1 start date. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship typically adds one to two years on top of the H-1B timeline, so starting that conversation early in your employment matters.
