Align your credentials to WSP's project delivery framework
WSP Program Manager roles typically require demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder infrastructure or consulting engagements. A PMP certification or equivalent strengthens your profile and signals readiness for the cross-functional oversight these roles demand.
Target WSP's sector-specific Program Manager openings
WSP hires Program Managers across distinct practice areas including transportation, environment, and buildings. Applying to a role aligned with your technical background, not just the title, gives you a stronger case at the hiring stage and a cleaner specialty occupation argument for your visa petition.
Confirm sponsorship eligibility before your final interview round
Program Manager titles at consulting firms can attract scrutiny under the H-1B specialty occupation standard. Ask the recruiter early whether the specific role has been sponsored before, so you're not navigating that conversation after an offer is on the table.
Understand how WSP structures LCA filings for consulting roles
WSP places Program Managers at client sites across multiple jurisdictions. Your Labor Condition Application must reflect the actual worksite wage level, not just WSP's headquarters location. Confirm with your employer contact which DOL prevailing wage level the role is benchmarked against.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Program Manager roles by visa type
Not every Program Manager posting at WSP is open to sponsored candidates. Use Migrate Mate to filter WSP's openings specifically by the visa categories you qualify for, so you're spending time only on roles where sponsorship is already on the table.
Plan your timeline around WSP's hiring cycle and USCIS processing
If you're targeting an H-1B cap-subject petition, the April 1 filing window means WSP needs your offer finalized well before March. For E-3 or TN renewals, consular appointment wait times in your home country should factor into your start date negotiation with the hiring team.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does WSP sponsor H-1B visas for Program Managers?
Yes, WSP sponsors H-1B visas for Program Manager roles. Because Program Manager is a management-track title, USCIS will scrutinize whether the position qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a specific bachelor's degree. WSP's consulting context, where roles are grounded in engineering, environmental science, or technical project delivery, generally supports that argument when the job duties are clearly documented in the petition.
How do I apply for Program Manager jobs at WSP?
Applications go through WSP's careers portal, where roles are listed by practice area and location. Before applying, confirm the posting is open to sponsored candidates, since not every listing specifies this upfront. Migrate Mate filters WSP's openings by visa type, which helps you identify sponsorship-eligible Program Manager roles without combing through every posting manually.
Which visa types does WSP commonly use for Program Manager roles?
WSP sponsors H-1B, E-3 visa, TN visa, and F-1 OPT for Program Manager positions, and supports Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term employees. Australian citizens are well-positioned for the E-3 visa, which has no lottery and can be processed at a U.S. consulate. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations may be eligible for TN visa status, which can often be obtained at the border.
What qualifications does WSP expect for sponsored Program Manager roles?
WSP typically looks for a bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, construction management, or a related technical field, combined with several years of project or program management experience. A PMP certification is frequently listed as preferred. Because the H-1B specialty occupation standard requires the role to normally require a specific degree, your academic background needs to align directly with the Program Manager function you're applying for.
How do I time my application if I'm on OPT or need an H-1B transfer?
If you're on F-1 OPT, WSP can employ you immediately while filing an H-1B cap-subject petition in the April lottery. Cap-exempt situations, such as transferring from another H-1B employer, allow WSP to file and request a start date without waiting for the next cap cycle. USCIS standard processing takes several months, so align your offer acceptance timeline with your current status expiration and any gap in work authorization.
