Align your credentials to federal project delivery
Tetra Tech's Program Manager roles frequently support U.S. government agency contracts. A PMP certification and documented experience managing scope, schedule, and budget on federally funded or regulated projects will strengthen your profile before you apply.
Target postings tied to specific contract vehicles
Many Tetra Tech Program Manager openings are tied to active federal task orders or IDIQ contracts. Search their open roles by sector, such as water, environment, or defense, to find positions with funded headcount and a genuine hire timeline.
Clarify your visa category early in interviews
Tetra Tech sponsors multiple nonimmigrant categories. Before your first round, confirm whether the role is H-1B cap-subject or cap-exempt, since some positions tied to government research or nonprofit affiliates may qualify for cap-exempt filing with faster USCIS processing.
Negotiate offer timing around H-1B filing windows
If you need an H-1B, the cap registration window opens in March for an October 1 start. Structure your offer negotiation so that your start date and employment terms are confirmed before DOL Labor Condition Application filing begins in late February or early March.
Verify your OPT or CPT work authorization covers project-based roles
Tetra Tech frequently hires on F-1 OPT for Program Manager functions. Confirm with your DSO that your authorized field of study covers your specific role title, since a mismatch between your STEM designation and the job description can trigger an I-9 compliance issue with E-Verify.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsoring employers
Finding Program Manager roles where visa sponsorship is confirmed upfront saves weeks of dead-end outreach. Use Migrate Mate to filter Tetra Tech openings and similar consulting employers by visa type, so every application you submit is at a company with a real sponsorship track record.

Does Tetra Tech sponsor H-1B visas for Program Managers?
Yes, Tetra Tech sponsors H-1B visas for Program Manager roles. The process requires your employer to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and then submit Form I-129 to USCIS. If you are subject to the H-1B cap, registration typically opens in March for an October 1 start date. Some Tetra Tech roles tied to government or research functions may qualify for cap-exempt filing, which allows year-round petitions.
How do I apply for Program Manager jobs at Tetra Tech?
Apply directly through Tetra Tech's careers portal, where postings are organized by sector and location. Tailor your resume to the specific contract or program area listed in the job description, since many roles are tied to active client engagements. You can also browse verified Program Manager openings at Tetra Tech on Migrate Mate, which filters by visa sponsorship type so you know sponsorship is available before you apply.
Which visa types does Tetra Tech commonly use for Program Manager roles?
Tetra Tech sponsors H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Program Manager functions. H-1B is the most common pathway for long-term employment. TN is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. J-1 and F-1 OPT are typically used for earlier-career hires or candidates transitioning from academic programs into professional roles.
What qualifications does Tetra Tech expect for Program Manager positions?
Most Program Manager roles at Tetra Tech require a bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, business, or a related technical field, along with several years of project leadership experience. A PMP certification is frequently listed as preferred or required. Familiarity with federal contract structures, such as IDIQ or cost-plus vehicles, and experience managing multidisciplinary teams on regulated or government-funded projects strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How do I understand the visa sponsorship timeline for a Tetra Tech Program Manager offer?
The timeline depends on your visa category. For H-1B cap-subject cases, expect a March registration window with a October 1 earliest start. Premium processing through USCIS can reduce Form I-129 adjudication to 15 business days after filing. For TN, Canadian citizens can obtain status at a port of entry with minimal lead time. For F-1 OPT, your EAD must be in hand before your start date, so apply to USCIS at least 90 days in advance.
