Frame your PMP credentials for logistics operations
Ryder's Program Manager roles sit inside a logistics and supply chain environment, not a traditional consulting firm. Highlight certifications like PMP or Six Sigma alongside direct experience managing cross-functional operations programs, not just project delivery.
Target roles tied to fleet or supply chain accounts
Ryder's largest hiring volumes for program management are in fleet management services and dedicated contract logistics. Applying to roles explicitly tied to those business units puts you in front of hiring managers with established sponsor approval pathways.
Confirm H-1B sponsorship before investing in final rounds
Not every Program Manager opening at Ryder is pre-approved for sponsorship. Ask your recruiter directly whether the specific role has been flagged for H-1B support, since sponsorship decisions can vary by business unit and budget cycle.
Align your start date with H-1B cap timelines
If you need a new H-1B, USCIS accepts cap-subject petitions in April for an October 1 start. Build that into your negotiation with Ryder so neither side is surprised by a six-month gap between offer and authorization.
Understand that EB-2 and EB-3 PERM timelines are long
Ryder sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, but PERM labor certification alone can take over a year. If long-term sponsorship matters to you, raise the question during the offer stage, not after you've accepted.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship history
Ryder posts a high volume of Program Manager openings across many locations and business lines. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles where Ryder has a demonstrated sponsorship record, so you focus your applications where they are most likely to convert.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ryder System sponsor H-1B visas for Program Managers?
Yes, Ryder System has sponsored H-1B visas for Program Manager roles. Sponsorship availability can vary by business unit, location, and hiring budget, so confirm with your recruiter whether the specific opening you're applying to is approved for H-1B support before advancing through final rounds.
How do I apply for Program Manager jobs at Ryder System?
You can apply directly through Ryder's careers portal. To focus your search on roles with a visa sponsorship track record, Migrate Mate filters Ryder's Program Manager openings by sponsorship history, which helps you prioritize positions where international candidates have successfully moved through the hiring process before.
Which visa types does Ryder System commonly use for Program Manager roles?
Ryder sponsors both nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories for Program Managers. H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant path, covering specialty occupation roles tied to business operations and logistics management. For longer-term employees, Ryder has also pursued EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process with the DOL.
What qualifications does Ryder look for in Program Manager candidates who need sponsorship?
Ryder's Program Manager roles typically require a bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, industrial engineering, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience managing large-scale operational programs. PMP certification and experience in fleet management, dedicated logistics, or contract services are recurring qualifiers in their postings. Relevant industry experience strengthens the specialty occupation case required for H-1B approval.
How do I time my application if I need H-1B sponsorship to work at Ryder?
If you need a new cap-subject H-1B, USCIS opens registration in March for petitions filed in April, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest. Factor that gap into conversations with Ryder during the offer stage. If you're transferring an existing H-1B from another employer, Ryder can file a cap-exempt petition and you can start once USCIS issues a receipt notice.
