Frame your PM credentials around infrastructure delivery
Lochner's Program Manager roles center on transportation and infrastructure consulting. Tailor your resume to highlight project controls, stakeholder coordination, and program-level oversight on capital or infrastructure projects rather than general management experience.
Verify your degree aligns with specialty occupation requirements
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations. For a Program Manager position, a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field strengthens your petition far more than a general business degree.
Target Lochner's active project regions when applying
Lochner staffs Program Managers to specific regional offices tied to active contracts. Applying to openings aligned with regions where they hold major DOT or infrastructure contracts improves your chances of a role that justifies the sponsorship investment.
Raise sponsorship early in recruiter conversations
Don't wait until an offer is extended to ask about H-1B sponsorship. Lochner's recruiting team handles professional services hiring regularly, so asking directly whether the role is open to sponsorship during the first screen avoids wasted time on both sides.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Program Manager roles at Lochner
Search Migrate Mate to filter Program Manager openings at H W Lochner that are open to visa sponsorship. This saves time by surfacing only relevant roles rather than manually reviewing each posting for sponsorship eligibility.
Understand PERM timing if EB-2 or EB-3 is part of your plan
If Lochner offers to sponsor a Green Card, the PERM labor certification process through DOL typically runs 12 to 18 months before an I-140 can be filed. Factor that into your timeline, especially if you're currently on H-1B with limited extensions remaining.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does H W Lochner sponsor H-1B visas for Program Managers?
Yes, H W Lochner has sponsored H-1B visas for Program Manager roles. Sponsorship is typically tied to specific project needs and regional hiring, so availability can vary by opening. Candidates should confirm sponsorship eligibility directly with the recruiter during the initial screening call, before advancing through interviews.
How do I apply for Program Manager jobs at H W Lochner?
You can browse and apply for Program Manager positions at H W Lochner through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles open to visa sponsorship. Applications typically require a resume tailored to infrastructure or consulting program delivery, and Lochner's process generally includes a recruiter screen followed by panel interviews with regional leadership.
Which visa types does H W Lochner commonly use to sponsor Program Managers?
H W Lochner sponsors Program Managers primarily through the H-1B visa for initial work authorization. For longer-term permanent residency, the company has supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through PERM labor certification. The pathway offered typically depends on the candidate's qualifications, degree level, and the specific role's requirements under DOL guidelines.
What qualifications does H W Lochner expect for a sponsored Program Manager role?
Lochner generally expects Program Managers to hold a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, construction management, or a related technical discipline, which also satisfies USCIS specialty occupation criteria for H-1B purposes. Practical experience managing program-level infrastructure or transportation consulting engagements is weighted heavily, alongside demonstrated skills in schedule, budget, and client stakeholder management.
How do I time my H-1B sponsorship process when targeting a role at H W Lochner?
The standard H-1B cap filing window opens in April for an October 1 start date, so offers need to be in place well before the March registration period. If you're transitioning from another employer's H-1B, Lochner can file an H-1B transfer, which allows you to start work once USCIS receives the petition without waiting for full approval. Plan your job search accordingly.
