Target engineering and technical roles
H W Lochner's sponsorship activity is concentrated in its core consulting and engineering disciplines. Focus your applications on roles like structural engineer, transportation planner, or project engineer, positions most aligned with the firm's sponsorship history.
Understand the H-1B process before applying
Lochner sponsors H-1B visas for specialty occupation roles. Knowing how the H-1B cap, lottery, and employer petition process works before your interview signals seriousness and helps you ask informed questions about the firm's sponsorship timeline.
Ask about Green Card sponsorship early
Lochner has sponsored permanent residence through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. If long-term U.S. residency is your goal, raise this during the offer stage, consulting firms with PERM history are generally more receptive than those without it.
Highlight specialized technical qualifications
Consulting firms like Lochner sponsor visas when a candidate's skills are hard to source domestically. Emphasize niche expertise, transportation modeling, bridge design, or construction management, to strengthen the specialty occupation case for your role.
Use Migrate Mate to confirm sponsorship before applying
Don't rely on job descriptions alone to determine sponsorship eligibility. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you prioritize Lochner openings with confidence rather than guessing at willingness.
Apply well ahead of H-1B cap deadlines
H-1B registrations open in March each year. If you're targeting Lochner for cap-subject sponsorship, begin conversations with their recruiting team months in advance, firms in professional services typically need lead time to prepare petition documentation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does H W Lochner sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, H W Lochner sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying specialty occupation roles. Sponsorship is most common in engineering and technical consulting positions where a specific degree is required. If you're applying for a role that meets the specialty occupation standard, it's worth discussing sponsorship directly with Lochner's recruiting team during the interview process.
What visa types does H W Lochner sponsor?
H W Lochner sponsors both H-1B temporary work visas and employment-based Green Cards, primarily through the EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories. The H-1B covers initial employment for foreign nationals in specialty roles, while the EB-2 and EB-3 pathways support employees pursuing permanent residence after an established tenure with the firm.
Which roles at H W Lochner are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at H W Lochner tends to follow the firm's core service areas, infrastructure engineering, transportation planning, and project management consulting. Roles requiring a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field are the strongest candidates for H-1B sponsorship. Positions with a more generalist profile may face a harder specialty occupation determination.
How do I find open jobs at H W Lochner that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists verified sponsoring employers, including H W Lochner, so you can browse current openings filtered by real sponsorship history rather than relying on job descriptions that may not mention immigration support. Searching directly through a platform built around sponsorship data saves time and reduces the risk of applying to roles where sponsorship isn't actually available.
How do I approach H W Lochner about visa sponsorship during the hiring process?
Raise sponsorship after you've demonstrated clear fit for the role, ideally once there's mutual interest but before an offer is extended. Frame it practically: confirm the role qualifies as a specialty occupation, ask whether the firm has sponsored similar positions before, and inquire about the typical timeline from offer to petition filing. Lochner's history with employment-based sponsorship means the conversation is unlikely to be new to their HR team.
