We are looking for a Mechanical Technician who likes learning new things, thinking independently, and is interested in working alongside engineers on a product development team.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Our technicians work in a hands-on environment as members of cross functional engineering teams supporting the development of new products. This role will work onsite at our customer location in Coopersburg, PA and will be part of a team that develops high-end home automation and lighting products.
Our technicians work closely with engineers and can be involved in the product development process from initial concept, through development and testing. Project work involves setting up test environments that mimic the environment and usage our customer products may see in the real world. This may mean the technician will set up prototype automated blinds, dimmer switches, and lighting systems on “test walls”. They will help perform abuse testing of products and log test data into Excel spreadsheets.
Activities may include:
- Construct “test walls” and fixtures (racks and displays) using basic hand tools
- Affix prototype product to test fixtures
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues with test product and test fixtures
- Help execute pre-written test plans
- Log test data into customer system
- Understand and document defects encountered during testing
- Work alongside engineers and technical staff to improve tests
- Execute ad-hoc tests based on needs communicated by senior team members
- Review test results with senior team members to communicate findings
- Offer suggestions and institute process improvements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in the mechanical field
- Ability to work with basic hand tools and machinery
- Ability to see how things work and fit together
- Proven ability to learn and use new software. If they have exposure to CAD or Mechanical Design that is a huge bonus
- Ability to use MS Office, specifically Excel
- High School Diploma or equivalent

- Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
