Align Your Credentials to Garver's Project Types
Garver's engineering work spans transportation, water, and aviation infrastructure. Frame your resume around program delivery in those sectors, because a general PM background is less compelling than one tied to civil or infrastructure project lifecycles.
Confirm Your Visa Type Before Applying
Garver sponsors multiple visa categories, but not every hiring manager knows the filing difference between an H-1B transfer and a new cap-subject petition. Know your current status, your authorized work period, and whether you need USCIS involvement before your first interview.
Target Garver Offices in States With Strong Infrastructure Pipelines
Garver operates across the South, Midwest, and Mountain West, where federally funded infrastructure programs drive consistent hiring. Applying to offices in those regions improves your odds of landing a role with active project backlog and budget to support sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Engineering Program Manager Roles
Garver posts Engineering Program Manager openings frequently, but sponsorship-eligible roles aren't always labeled. Use Migrate Mate to filter Garver's active listings by visa type so you're applying only to positions where sponsorship is confirmed.
Ask About LCA Filing Timing During the Offer Stage
Your employer must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. If your start date is tight, ask the hiring team during negotiations whether they use premium processing to avoid a gap in work authorization.
Prepare a PERM-Ready Employment History If You're Targeting Permanent Residency
Garver sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for engineering roles. PERM recruitment requires DOL to verify no qualified U.S. workers are available, so document every prior role with precise titles, duties, and dates now rather than reconstructing them under deadline pressure later.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Garver sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Program Managers?
Yes, Garver sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Program Manager roles. The company has a consistent record of supporting both new cap-subject petitions and H-1B transfers for experienced engineering professionals. If you're already on an H-1B with another employer, a transfer to Garver can begin as soon as your petition is filed with USCIS, letting you start work without waiting for approval.
How do I apply for Engineering Program Manager jobs at Garver?
Applications go through Garver's careers portal, where Engineering Program Manager roles are listed by region and practice area. Roles in transportation, water, and aviation infrastructure appear most frequently. You can also browse Garver's open Engineering Program Manager positions filtered by visa sponsorship availability on Migrate Mate, which surfaces only the listings where sponsorship has been confirmed.
Which visa types does Garver commonly use for Engineering Program Manager hires?
Garver supports H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1 visa, and Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 categories for Engineering Program Manager positions. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering occupations. OPT and CPT can cover early-career engineers completing U.S. degrees, with H-1B sponsorship often following for those who receive a lottery selection.
What qualifications does Garver expect for Engineering Program Manager roles?
Garver typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in civil, environmental, or a related engineering discipline, along with project or program management experience in infrastructure consulting. PMP certification or a PE license strengthens your profile significantly. Experience managing multi-phase projects for public-sector clients, particularly in transportation or water systems, aligns closely with the work Garver delivers across its regional offices.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at a company like Garver?
From offer acceptance to an approved H-1B petition, the standard timeline runs four to six months without premium processing. USCIS premium processing cuts the adjudication window to roughly 15 business days for an additional fee paid by the employer. If you're on OPT with a cap-gap situation, file timing relative to the October 1 H-1B start date matters significantly for maintaining continuous work authorization.
