Frame your leadership credentials for consulting contexts
Garver operates in professional services, so document team lead experience that spans cross-functional project delivery, not just internal product work. Portfolio evidence of leading developers through client-facing technical engagements will strengthen your specialty occupation case.
Target open roles aligned with active projects
Consulting firms backfill team lead roles when project pipelines expand. Filter Garver's job board by engineering discipline to find openings tied to infrastructure, water, or transportation projects, where software leads are most consistently hired.
Confirm TN eligibility before applying if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
TN status requires your role to qualify as a computer systems analyst or engineer under USMCA. A Software Development Team Lead with a qualifying degree in computer science or engineering can often enter on TN without waiting for H-1B cap season.
Use Migrate Mate to surface Garver's active Software Development Team Lead openings
Search Migrate Mate's visa-sponsorship job board to find current Software Development Team Lead listings at Garver filtered by sponsorship type. This saves time verifying which postings are open to candidates who need H-1B or OPT sponsorship.
Prepare for a PERM-linked green card conversation early
If Garver initiates EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, DOL's PERM labor certification requires demonstrating no qualified U.S. worker was available. Understanding that timeline upfront helps you negotiate start dates and extension petitions without gaps in status.

Find Software Development Team Lead at Garver JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Garver sponsor H-1B visas for Software Development Team Leads?
Yes, Garver sponsors H-1B visas for Software Development Team Lead roles. As a professional services firm with active engineering project pipelines, Garver has a consistent history of filing H-1B petitions for technical staff. If you're currently on OPT or need cap-subject H-1B sponsorship, confirm filing timelines directly during the offer negotiation stage, since USCIS registration opens each March for an October 1 start.
How do I apply for Software Development Team Lead jobs at Garver?
Apply directly through Garver's careers portal or find their open Software Development Team Lead positions on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. Tailor your application to highlight technical leadership in project-based or consulting environments, since Garver's work spans infrastructure and engineering services rather than product development.
Which visa types does Garver commonly sponsor for Software Development Team Lead roles?
Garver sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas for technical roles including Software Development Team Leads. For candidates pursuing permanent residency, Garver also sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through DOL's PERM labor certification process. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican citizens whose degree and job duties qualify under USMCA computer professional categories.
What qualifications does Garver expect for a Software Development Team Lead?
Garver typically looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, paired with demonstrated experience leading development teams in a project delivery context. Because Garver works across engineering consulting verticals, experience integrating software solutions into civil infrastructure or technical consulting projects is a meaningful differentiator over candidates with purely product-focused backgrounds.
How do I plan my visa timeline when accepting a Software Development Team Lead offer at Garver?
Timeline planning depends on your current status. F-1 OPT holders should confirm Garver will file an H-1B petition during the April registration window to avoid a status gap. TN candidates can often start within weeks of an offer. For H-1B transfers from another employer, USCIS portability rules allow you to begin work once Garver files a non-frivolous petition, without waiting for approval.
