Does Garver sponsor H-1B visas for Civil Project Engineers?
Yes, Garver sponsors H-1B visas for Civil Project Engineers. The company operates across multiple engineering disciplines in the consulting sector and has a track record of supporting visa sponsorship for technical roles. Sponsorship availability can vary by office location and project demand, so confirming with the hiring team during the interview process is the most reliable approach.
Which visa types does Garver commonly use for Civil Project Engineer roles?
For Civil Project Engineer positions, Garver works with several visa categories including H-1B, F-1 OPT and CPT, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and J-1 for exchange-based candidates. For candidates seeking permanent residence, Garver has supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, which typically involves a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before the immigrant petition.
What qualifications does Garver expect for Civil Project Engineer roles?
Most Civil Project Engineer postings at Garver require a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam and holding Engineer-in-Training status is commonly expected, and progress toward a Professional Engineer license is valued. Relevant project experience in transportation, water systems, aviation, or structural engineering strengthens your application significantly.
How do I apply for Civil Project Engineer jobs at Garver?
You can browse open Civil Project Engineer positions on Garver's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can identify which postings are open to international candidates. When applying, tailor your resume to the specific engineering discipline the role covers and clearly indicate your current work authorization status and any upcoming OPT or visa expiration dates.
How do I plan my timeline if Garver offers H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B petitions are subject to an annual cap, with USCIS typically opening registration in March for an October 1 start date. If you receive a Garver offer and need H-1B sponsorship, the employer must file within that registration window. If you're on OPT, your current authorization may bridge the gap, but confirm your EAD expiration and cap-gap eligibility with your DSO as early as possible in the process.
