Target Jobot's infrastructure and transportation verticals
Jobot fills Civil Project Engineer roles most heavily in roadway, municipal, and site development projects. Filtering your search by these project types surfaces roles where your experience maps directly to what their client employers need, strengthening your sponsorship case.
Clarify the end-client sponsorship structure upfront
Because Jobot is a staffing firm, your H-1B or TN petition lists Jobot as the petitioning employer, not the end client. Ask your recruiter early whether the role is direct-hire or contract-to-hire, since this affects how USCIS evaluates employer-employee control in your petition.
Prepare your specialty occupation documentation precisely
USCIS scrutinizes staffing firm H-1B petitions more closely for specialty occupation eligibility. Gather degree transcripts, a degree equivalency evaluation if your credential is non-U.S., and a detailed itinerary of project duties that maps to civil engineering's theoretical and practical requirements.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by visa type
Jobot lists Civil Project Engineer positions across multiple locations with varying sponsorship terms. Use Migrate Mate to filter Jobot's open roles by the specific visa types you hold, so you're only engaging with postings where your status is already a fit.
Time your TN application to project start dates
If you're a Canadian or Mexican citizen using TN status, Jobot can support your application at the port of entry without the H-1B lottery wait. Coordinate your start date with your recruiter at least three to four weeks out to allow time for the offer letter and DOL-compliant job description to be finalized.

Find Civil Project Engineer at Jobot JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Jobot sponsor H-1B visas for Civil Project Engineers?
Yes, Jobot sponsors H-1B visas for Civil Project Engineer roles. As a staffing firm, Jobot serves as the petitioning employer, which means your H-1B is tied to Jobot rather than the end client. USCIS applies additional scrutiny to staffing firm petitions, so expect to provide a detailed itinerary of duties and documentation establishing specialty occupation status alongside your degree credentials.
Which visa types does Jobot commonly support for Civil Project Engineer roles?
Jobot supports H-1B, F-1 OPT, and TN visas for Civil Project Engineer positions. F-1 OPT candidates can begin work during their OPT period while H-1B sponsorship is arranged. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican citizens since civil engineer is a qualifying TN occupation under USMCA, and it can be processed at the port of entry without the H-1B lottery.
What qualifications and experience does Jobot expect for Civil Project Engineer roles?
Jobot's Civil Project Engineer postings typically require a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited program, along with hands-on experience in design, permitting, or construction management for infrastructure or site development projects. Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation is commonly listed. A Professional Engineer license or active EIT credential strengthens your profile significantly.
How do I apply for Civil Project Engineer jobs at Jobot?
You can browse Civil Project Engineer openings at Jobot directly through Migrate Mate, which filters Jobot's listings by visa sponsorship type so you only see roles compatible with your status. Once you identify a relevant posting, applications go directly to Jobot's recruiting team. Be upfront about your visa status and timeline in your first recruiter conversation to avoid being advanced into processes that don't support your sponsorship needs.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take when going through a staffing firm like Jobot?
Standard H-1B processing through USCIS takes four to six months after the April 1 filing date, with an October 1 start date for cap-subject petitions. If you're already in H-1B status and transferring to Jobot, portability under the 60-day grace period can allow you to start before approval. Premium processing reduces the adjudication window to 15 business days but does not change the lottery or cap timelines.
