Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Garver's Senior Project Management roles in consulting and professional services typically require a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a closely related field. Confirm your degree maps directly to the role before applying, since USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation status for management-level positions.
Target Garver's infrastructure and public works divisions
Garver concentrates its Senior Project Management hiring in transportation, water, and aviation infrastructure. Tailoring your resume to reflect large-scale public sector project delivery increases your relevance to the teams that consistently open these roles.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active openings efficiently
Senior Project Management vacancies at Garver are distributed across regional offices and don't always appear uniformly on job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter sponsorship-confirmed openings by role and location so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already expected.
Clarify your visa timeline before the offer stage
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm how much authorized work time remains before initiating conversations about an offer. Garver files H-1B petitions on the standard October 1 start date, so a tight OPT window may require cap-gap protection to bridge the gap without a work authorization lapse.
Prepare a PERM-ready employment history early
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, DOL's PERM audit process requires documented proof of your prior positions, duties, and dates of employment. Gather offer letters, pay stubs, and employer verification letters before you need them, since gaps in documentation routinely delay PERM certification.
Demonstrate PMP or equivalent credentials in your application
Senior Project Management roles at Garver in consulting and professional services frequently list PMP certification or equivalent project governance credentials as a hiring factor. Candidates who lead with measurable project outcomes and professional certifications reduce employer hesitation around sponsorship overhead at the senior level.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Garver sponsor H-1B visas for Senior Project Managements?
Yes, Garver sponsors H-1B visas for Senior Project Management positions. The role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards when tied to a relevant engineering or management degree. Garver participates in the annual H-1B cap lottery, so timing your application cycle relative to the April filing window is critical if you're not already in H-1B status.
How do I apply for Senior Project Management jobs at Garver?
Applications are submitted through Garver's careers portal. Senior Project Management openings are distributed across multiple regional offices, so filtering by location matters. Migrate Mate aggregates Garver's sponsorship-confirmed openings in one place, making it easier to identify which positions are actively recruiting international candidates before you apply directly through Garver's site.
Which visa types does Garver commonly use for Senior Project Management roles?
Garver sponsors across several categories for this function, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering and management roles, F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning from academic programs, and EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based Green Cards for longer-term sponsorship. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree, and career stage.
What qualifications does Garver expect for Senior Project Management positions?
Garver's Senior Project Management roles in consulting and professional services typically require a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline, combined with several years of project delivery experience in infrastructure sectors such as transportation, water, or aviation. PMP certification or a comparable credential strengthens your candidacy, particularly for roles involving public agency clients.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Senior Project Management hire at Garver?
Timelines vary by visa category. H-1B standard processing runs three to five months from the April filing window, with premium processing available to USCIS for a faster adjudication. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 typically runs one to two years before the I-140 stage, depending on DOL audit activity. Confirm your current status and work authorization runway with Garver's HR team before accepting an offer.
