Align your credentials to GHD's project domains
GHD operates across water, environment, transport, and energy sectors. Frame your program management credentials around infrastructure or advisory project delivery rather than generic PM experience. PMP certification and sector-relevant case studies carry real weight in screening.
Confirm visa eligibility before applying
GHD sponsors multiple visa categories including F-1 OPT, TN, and employment-based Green Cards. Cross-check your current status against what each role realistically supports before submitting, since not every open position will accommodate every pathway.
Target GHD offices in infrastructure-heavy markets
GHD's Project Program Manager openings cluster around regions with active infrastructure spend. Prioritize applications to offices in states running major public-sector programs, where project pipelines are long enough to justify the lead time sponsorship requires.
Use Migrate Mate to find GHD's sponsored openings
Not all GHD listings surface visa sponsorship details directly. Browse GHD's Project Program Manager postings on Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles open to sponsored candidates, saving time you'd otherwise spend vetting each listing manually.
Initiate the LCA conversation before your offer stage
For H-1B or employment-based Green Card pathways, the Labor Condition Application filed with DOL sets the prevailing wage benchmark. Understanding how GHD's offered salary aligns with that benchmark in your target office's metro area helps you negotiate from an informed position.
Build a PERM-ready employment history file early
If your goal is an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card through GHD, PERM requires documented proof of your qualifications that predates the job advertisement. Gather degree transcripts, prior employer reference letters, and project records now so nothing delays the filing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does GHD sponsor H-1B visas for Project Program Managers?
GHD does not appear in public H-1B visa disclosure data as an active sponsor for Project Program Manager roles based on recent filing records. Their sponsored pathways for this function lean more heavily toward employment-based Green Cards (EB-2 and EB-3) and F-1 OPT. If H-1B visa is your only viable pathway, confirm directly with GHD's recruiting team before investing significant time in the application process.
How do I apply for Project Program Manager jobs at GHD?
Apply directly through GHD's careers portal, where Project Program Manager roles are listed by region and practice area. Tailor your application to the specific sector the role serves, whether that's water, transport, or environment consulting. You can also browse GHD's sponsored openings on Migrate Mate to identify which postings are open to visa-sponsored candidates before applying.
Which visa types does GHD commonly use for Project Program Manager roles?
GHD's sponsorship activity for Project Program Managers spans F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management categories), J-1 visa, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree level, and where you are in your career, so review each category's eligibility requirements with USCIS before committing to one.
What qualifications does GHD expect for a Project Program Manager?
GHD typically looks for a bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, urban planning, or a related technical field, combined with demonstrated program management experience on complex, multi-stakeholder projects. PMP certification strengthens your application. For roles requiring specialty occupation status under employment-based visas, your degree field needs to directly align with the responsibilities of the specific position.
How do I plan my timeline if GHD is sponsoring my Green Card?
EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM is a multi-stage process that typically spans one to three years or longer depending on your country of birth and priority date backlog. PERM recruitment and filing with DOL comes first, followed by an I-140 petition with USCIS, then adjustment of status or consular processing. Start planning well before your current status expires.
