Align your credentials to U.S. permitting standards
GHD's Environmental Manager roles often involve NEPA reviews, Clean Water Act compliance, and state-level environmental permitting. Before applying, document your experience with U.S.-equivalent regulatory frameworks so your resume maps directly to what their project teams need.
Target GHD's infrastructure and water practice areas
GHD staffs Environmental Managers across specific service lines including water, transportation, and energy transition. Applications tied to a concrete practice area rather than a general environmental background tend to progress faster through their consulting hiring pipeline.
Understand how TN status works for this role
If you're a Canadian or Mexican citizen, TN classification under the Environmental Engineer category can apply to Environmental Manager roles at GHD, but the job duties must clearly align with the defined occupation. Confirm your offer letter language reflects that alignment before crossing the border.
Ask about PERM timing during the offer stage
GHD sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, but PERM labor certification timelines through DOL can stretch well beyond a year. Raise Green Card sponsorship explicitly during the offer negotiation, not after you've started, so both sides align on when the process begins.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Environmental Manager roles at GHD
GHD posts Environmental Manager openings across multiple locations, but not all listings surface equally across job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for GHD roles that include visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions where international hiring is already confirmed.
Prepare your OPT or CPT documentation before interviews
If you're on F-1 status, GHD will need to verify your work authorization timeline before extending an offer. Have your EAD card, STEM OPT extension eligibility, and DSO contact ready so HR can assess your authorization window against the role's project commitments.

Does GHD sponsor H-1B visas for Environmental Managers?
GHD does not appear in H-1B sponsorship records for Environmental Manager roles based on available DOL disclosure data. Their sponsorship activity for this function is concentrated in employment-based Green Card categories and visa types like TN and J-1. If H-1B sponsorship is a requirement for your situation, clarify this directly with GHD's HR team during the interview process.
Which visa types does GHD commonly use for Environmental Manager roles?
GHD's sponsorship for Environmental Managers spans EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and J-1 for eligible exchange visitors. The right path depends on your nationality, degree level, and how your role is classified within GHD's project structure.
What qualifications and experience does GHD expect for Environmental Manager positions?
GHD typically looks for a bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field, combined with hands-on experience in environmental impact assessment, regulatory permitting, or compliance management. Project management credentials and familiarity with U.S. federal and state environmental regulations strengthen your candidacy significantly, especially for client-facing consulting roles.
How do I apply for Environmental Manager jobs at GHD?
You can browse current Environmental Manager openings at GHD through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles open to international candidates. When you apply, tailor your resume to the specific practice area the role supports, such as water infrastructure or energy, and be explicit about your visa status and work authorization timeline so GHD's recruitment team can assess fit quickly.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing a Green Card through GHD?
GHD sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, which require PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before USCIS can adjudicate your immigrant visa petition. The PERM process alone can take six months to over a year depending on DOL processing backlogs. Factor this into your planning if you're currently on a time-limited status like OPT, and raise the topic early in your offer discussions.
