Translate your credentials into U.S. regulatory fluency
Langan's Environmental Manager roles center on CERCLA, RCRA, and state-level remediation programs. Before applying, map your international environmental credentials to these frameworks so your resume reflects familiarity with U.S. EPA compliance standards, not just equivalent foreign regulations.
Target Langan's multi-discipline project teams strategically
Langan staffs Environmental Managers across geotechnical, civil, and environmental service lines, so openings appear under multiple practice groups. Search by office location and project type, not just job title, to surface the full range of relevant postings. Use Migrate Mate to filter Langan's Environmental Manager openings by sponsorship type.
Clarify your OPT or CPT authorization before the interview
If you're on F-1 status, confirm with your DSO that your OPT or CPT authorization covers environmental consulting work under NAICS codes for professional services. Langan uses E-Verify, so your work authorization must be in order before onboarding, not after an offer is extended.
Ask about PERM timing during the offer stage
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, Langan must run a PERM labor market test through DOL before filing your immigrant petition. Ask your recruiter whether the offered role has a job description already cleared for PERM, since mismatches between the offer letter and the PERM job description cause delays.
Align your TN application to DOL-recognized environmental categories
Canadian and Mexican nationals can enter under TN status as engineers if the Environmental Manager role is engineering-based. Confirm the position requires a degree in environmental engineering, not just environmental science, since the TN engineer category has a stricter credential match requirement at the port of entry.
Build a site investigation portfolio before applying
Langan's Environmental Manager hiring emphasizes Phase I and Phase II ESA experience, soil and groundwater remediation oversight, and agency correspondence. Documenting specific sites, contaminants managed, and regulatory outcomes gives your application substance that a generic environmental resume lacks.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Langan Engineering and Environmental Services sponsor H-1B visas for Environmental Managers?
Yes, Langan Engineering and Environmental Services sponsors H-1B visas for Environmental Manager roles. The position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS criteria because it requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or a directly related field. Sponsorship is handled through Langan's in-house or retained immigration counsel, and the process begins after a formal offer is extended.
How do I apply for Environmental Manager jobs at Langan Engineering and Environmental Services?
You can browse and apply for Environmental Manager openings at Langan through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles with confirmed visa sponsorship. Langan posts positions by office location and practice area, so searching by region and service line surfaces the most relevant roles. Applications typically require a resume, and some postings request a project experience summary covering site investigation or remediation work.
Which visa types does Langan Engineering and Environmental Services commonly use for Environmental Manager roles?
Langan sponsors H-1B visas for most international Environmental Manager hires, which covers both initial status and transfers from other employers. The firm also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, TN visa status for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose roles qualify under the engineer category, J-1 visa for certain exchange arrangements, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term permanent residence sponsorship.
What qualifications does Langan Engineering and Environmental Services expect for Environmental Manager candidates?
Langan's Environmental Manager roles typically require a bachelor's or master's degree in environmental engineering, geology, or environmental science, along with direct experience managing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, CERCLA or RCRA compliance projects, and regulatory agency interactions. Professional licensure such as a Professional Engineer or Licensed Site Remediation Professional is valued and sometimes required depending on the state office and project portfolio.
How do I navigate the H-1B sponsorship timeline when targeting Langan Engineering and Environmental Services?
If you need a new H-1B cap-subject petition, USCIS registration opens in early March for an October 1 start date. Langan would need to extend you an offer before registration closes so they can enter the lottery on your behalf. If you already hold H-1B status with another employer, Langan can file an H-1B transfer and you can start working once USCIS receives the petition, without waiting for approval.
