Align your credentials with PE licensure pathways
Langan values engineers who are either licensed or actively pursuing Professional Engineer licensure. Before applying, verify that your foreign degree is recognized by NCEES and prepare an academic credential evaluation, since consulting firms regularly use these during H-1B specialty occupation assessments.
Target disciplines with recurring project demand
Langan's consulting work consistently spans civil site development, geotechnical analysis, and environmental remediation. Positioning your application around one of these core service lines, rather than a general engineering background, maps directly to the roles they hire for year-round.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Engineering openings
Langan posts Engineering roles across multiple locations and seniority levels at different times. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Langan's visa-sponsoring positions so you're applying to openings where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than guessing from a general job board.
Start OPT conversations with HR before your expiration window
If you're on F-1 OPT, Langan's HR team needs lead time to coordinate your H-1B filing before your 60-day grace period begins. Raise the H-1B cap-subject lottery timeline in your first offer discussions, since April 1 registration deadlines are fixed regardless of when you start.
Understand how PERM affects your long-term green card path
Langan sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, both of which require DOL PERM labor certification. This process can take 12 to 18 months before USCIS even sees your I-140 petition, so ask during the offer stage which green card category the firm typically files for engineering staff.
Prepare project portfolio evidence for specialty occupation support
Consulting engineering roles at firms like Langan require demonstrating that your position qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Compile project descriptions, deliverables, and any technical reports that show your work requires at minimum a bachelor's degree in a specific engineering field.

Does Langan Engineering and Environmental Services sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Langan Engineering and Environmental Services sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Engineering roles. The firm operates across consulting disciplines where specialty occupation requirements are well established, making engineering positions a strong fit for H-1B classification. You'll need a relevant bachelor's degree or higher and a confirmed job offer before the firm can file the petition.
Which visa types does Langan Engineering and Environmental Services commonly use for Engineering roles?
Langan sponsors H-1B visas as the primary work authorization pathway for engineers, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students already in the hiring pipeline. For engineers on TN status, the firm also has experience with Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering occupations. Long-term, Langan supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the DOL PERM process for eligible staff.
What qualifications and experience does Langan Engineering and Environmental Services expect for Engineering positions?
Langan typically hires engineers with degrees in civil, environmental, geotechnical, or related engineering disciplines. For mid-level and senior roles, project experience in site development, subsurface investigation, or environmental remediation is common. Candidates progressing toward Professional Engineer licensure are viewed favorably. Foreign degrees should be evaluated for U.S. equivalency through a NCEES-recognized credential assessment service before you apply.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Langan Engineering and Environmental Services?
You can browse and apply for Langan's Engineering roles directly through Migrate Mate, which filters for positions where visa sponsorship is confirmed. Once you identify a relevant opening, apply through Langan's official careers portal with a resume tailored to the specific discipline, your credential evaluation documentation, and any licensure details. Following up with the recruiting team after submitting is standard practice in consulting firm hiring.
How do I navigate the timeline between receiving an offer and having my H-1B filed at Langan?
USCIS opens H-1B cap registration each March for an April 1 filing start, meaning your offer needs to be in place before that window if you're cap-subject. If you miss the lottery, Langan may be able to maintain your employment on OPT extensions or explore cap-exempt options. Discuss the full timeline with Langan's HR team immediately after receiving your offer so both parties can plan around USCIS deadlines.
