Align your credentials to U.S. licensure expectations
Osborn operates in regulated engineering disciplines where PE licensure matters. Before applying, confirm your foreign degree is evaluated by a NACES-recognized credential evaluator so hiring managers can quickly assess your eligibility for EIT or PE candidacy.
Target project types matching your visa category
Osborn staffs long-term infrastructure and transit projects that suit H-1B and TN timelines well. When applying, emphasize experience on multi-year capital programs, since those roles justify the employer's investment in sponsorship more directly than short-cycle project work.
Identify open roles using Migrate Mate's filtered job board
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for Osborn Engineering roles that have active visa sponsorship. This saves time that would otherwise go toward researching individual postings across general job boards with no sponsorship visibility.
Clarify OPT STEM extension eligibility before your interview
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your engineering degree qualifies for the 24-month STEM extension. Bringing this up proactively with a recruiter signals you understand your own timeline and reduces perceived risk for an employer managing H-1B cap season planning.
Time your offer acceptance around H-1B cap deadlines
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March for an October 1 start. If you receive an offer from Osborn outside that window, ask HR whether a cap-exempt filing pathway applies or whether a start date can be structured around the next registration cycle.
Request the LCA wage level in your offer discussion
Osborn must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition. Asking which prevailing wage level your role is classified under helps you verify the offered salary is LCA-compliant and avoids surprises during the USCIS adjudication stage.

Find Engineering at Osborn Engineering JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Osborn Engineering sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Osborn Engineering has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for engineering roles. The company operates across disciplines like civil, structural, and transportation engineering, where specialized degree requirements support the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies to H-1B petitions. If you're in the H-1B cap lottery cycle, factor in that October 1 start dates are the norm for new cap-subject approvals.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Osborn Engineering?
You can browse Osborn Engineering's open engineering positions directly through their careers page or use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles at Osborn that support visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to the project type and discipline listed in the posting. Osborn frequently hires for transportation, water, and structural roles, so highlighting relevant project delivery experience improves your chances of moving to a screening call.
Which visa types does Osborn Engineering commonly use for Engineering roles?
Osborn Engineering sponsors across several visa categories relevant to engineers, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1. TN is worth considering if you're a Canadian or Mexican national with a qualifying engineering degree, since it doesn't require a lottery and can be obtained at a port of entry. F-1 CPT is typically used for internship or co-op placements rather than full-time hires.
What qualifications does Osborn Engineering typically expect for Engineering positions?
Osborn generally looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline, such as civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering. For roles requiring H-1B sponsorship, your degree field must align directly with the job duties to satisfy the specialty occupation requirement. PE licensure or active EIT status is a differentiator, particularly for mid-level and senior project engineer positions.
How long does the visa sponsorship process typically take when joining Osborn Engineering?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B petitions filed under standard processing can take three to five months for USCIS adjudication after the April lottery. Premium processing cuts that to roughly two to three weeks but involves an additional government fee your employer must agree to cover. TN status for eligible nationals can often be obtained same-day at a port of entry, making it one of the faster paths for qualified engineers.
