Align your credentials to PE licensure expectations
Osborn Engineering's consulting work on infrastructure and public sector projects often ties Engineering Manager roles to Professional Engineer licensure or active pursuit of it. Confirm your state licensure status or NCEES record before applying, since this signals readiness for client-facing project leadership.
Target roles tied to active project pipelines
Consulting firms sponsor most aggressively when project backlogs demand it. Research Osborn's publicly awarded contracts in transportation, structural, or MEP disciplines and apply to Engineering Manager openings that align with those active service areas, not general listings.
Verify your visa category fits the role's duration
Osborn sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, CPT, and J-1, but Engineering Manager roles are long-term hires. If you're on OPT with limited time remaining, address cap-gap coverage or H-1B timing directly in early conversations so the hiring team can plan the filing window accordingly.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Engineering Manager roles
Osborn's sponsorship-eligible openings don't always appear on general job boards with visa details intact. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified Engineering Manager listings at Osborn filtered by your visa type, so you're targeting roles the company is actively willing to sponsor.
Prepare for DOL prevailing wage scrutiny at the manager level
H-1B and TN filings for Engineering Managers require employers to meet DOL prevailing wage standards, which rise sharply for management-level positions. Understand the wage level tiers before negotiating your offer so the LCA your employer files accurately reflects the scope of the role.
Frame leadership experience around multi-discipline project delivery
Osborn operates across structural, civil, MEP, and environmental disciplines under one firm. Engineering Managers who can demonstrate cross-discipline team coordination or client account management across project types are far more competitive than candidates with narrow single-discipline supervisory experience.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Osborn Engineering sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Managers?
Yes, Osborn Engineering sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Manager roles. As a consulting firm with ongoing infrastructure and building systems projects, Osborn has a pattern of sponsoring international engineers into management-level positions. H-1B is the most common long-term path for this role type, and the company has filed petitions across multiple visa categories for engineering talent.
Which visa types does Osborn Engineering commonly use for Engineering Manager roles?
Osborn Engineering sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, and J-1 visas for engineering roles. H-1B and TN visa are the most practical for Engineering Manager positions given the role's seniority and long-term nature. F-1 OPT and CPT are more common at earlier career stages, though they can serve as an entry point if you're transitioning into a management track.
What qualifications and experience does Osborn Engineering expect for Engineering Manager roles?
Osborn Engineering's Engineering Manager openings typically require a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, significant years of project experience in consulting or professional services, and demonstrated team leadership. Professional Engineer licensure is a strong differentiator given the firm's public sector and infrastructure client base. Management experience on multi-discipline projects is valued over single-track technical depth alone.
How do I apply for Engineering Manager jobs at Osborn Engineering?
You can apply directly through Osborn Engineering's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which lists Osborn's sponsorship-eligible Engineering Manager openings filtered by visa type. Before applying, confirm the specific discipline and regional office the role sits within, since Osborn operates across multiple practice areas and locations. Tailoring your application to the project type the team is actively staffing improves your chances significantly.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing an H-1B sponsorship through Osborn Engineering?
H-1B cap-subject filings open in March for an October 1 start date, so you need an offer and a completed Labor Condition Application certified by DOL before USCIS registration closes. For Engineering Manager roles, build in time for internal approvals and LCA filing, which can take two to four weeks. If you're currently on OPT, cap-gap protections may bridge the gap if your OPT expires before October 1.
