Align your credentials with consulting delivery models
Westwood operates in professional services, so Engineering Manager roles typically require demonstrable experience leading project-based teams, not just internal product orgs. Frame your resume around client deliverables, cross-functional oversight, and outcome-driven engineering leadership before you apply.
Confirm LCA filing intent before your first interview
For H-1B sponsorship, Westwood must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can process your petition. Ask your recruiter early whether the role is approved for LCA filing, so you're not deep into interviews for a position that isn't sponsorship-eligible.
Use Migrate Mate to filter live Engineering Manager openings
Westwood posts Engineering Manager roles across multiple locations and practice areas at any given time. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for sponsored openings so you're applying to positions where visa support has already been confirmed, not assuming it from the job description.
Position OPT as bridge coverage, not the long-term plan
If you're on F-1 OPT, make clear to Westwood's hiring team that you've mapped out the H-1B transition timeline, including the April lottery window and cap-subject filing deadlines. Consulting firms value candidates who understand their own authorization runway and won't need to pause project commitments mid-engagement.
Prepare your engineering credentials for PERM documentation
If Westwood pursues EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship for your role, DOL's PERM process requires documented proof that no qualified U.S. worker was available. Have your transcripts, professional certifications, and employment history ready in advance, since gaps in documentation are the most common cause of PERM delays.
Clarify multi-site work authorization with your immigration contact
Engineering Managers at consulting firms often oversee teams across different client sites or office locations. Each work location may require a separate LCA filing with DOL. Confirm with Westwood's HR or immigration team how they handle worksite amendments before your offer letter is finalized.

Does Westwood Professional Services sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Managers?
Yes, Westwood Professional Services sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Manager roles. The process involves the company filing a Labor Condition Application with DOL and then submitting a petition to USCIS on your behalf. Because H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, timing your application around the April registration window is critical, so confirm sponsorship eligibility with your recruiter before accepting an offer.
How do I apply for Engineering Manager jobs at Westwood Professional Services?
You can browse and apply for Engineering Manager openings at Westwood Professional Services through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can identify positions where international candidates are actively considered. When applying, tailor your application to highlight engineering leadership experience in consulting or professional services environments, since Westwood's work is largely project- and client-driven rather than product-focused.
Which visa types does Westwood Professional Services commonly use for Engineering Manager roles?
Westwood Professional Services sponsors several visa categories for Engineering Managers, including H-1B, TN (for Canadian and Mexican nationals), F-1 OPT and CPT for candidates in post-degree work authorization periods, J-1 for exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Card pathways through EB-2 or EB-3. The right category depends on your nationality, education level, and how long you need coverage, so it's worth discussing options directly with Westwood's HR team during the offer stage.
What qualifications does Westwood Professional Services expect for Engineering Manager positions?
Westwood typically looks for Engineering Managers with a bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline, combined with demonstrated experience managing technical teams and delivering projects in a consulting or professional services context. Leadership experience across multi-stakeholder environments, familiarity with engineering delivery frameworks, and the ability to manage client-facing engagements are common expectations. Advanced degrees or professional engineering certifications can strengthen your profile for EB-2 sponsorship consideration.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Engineering Managers at Westwood Professional Services?
Timeline depends on the visa category. H-1B standard processing through USCIS takes three to six months after the October 1 start date, while premium processing can reduce adjudication to around 15 business days. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through DOL typically runs 12 to 18 months before reaching the I-140 petition stage. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border on the day of entry, making it one of the faster paths if you qualify.
