Tailor your credentials to U.S. licensure expectations
Osborn Engineering values engineers who understand U.S. project delivery standards. If you hold a foreign engineering degree, confirm it aligns with ABET accreditation equivalency and document your path toward the FE or PE exam, which signals long-term commitment to U.S. practice.
Target Osborn's infrastructure and transportation project teams
Osborn consistently hires Civil Engineers into transportation, structural, and municipal infrastructure roles. Framing your application around specific project experience in those disciplines, rather than broad civil work, gets your resume in front of the hiring managers who control sponsored openings.
Clarify your OPT or CPT authorization timeline early
If you're on F-1 OPT, Osborn needs to verify your Employment Authorization Document before your start date through E-Verify. Bring your EAD and flag your STEM OPT extension eligibility upfront so the offer process doesn't stall waiting on authorization confirmation.
Understand how TN status applies to Civil Engineers
Canadian and Mexican nationals can pursue TN visa status for civil engineering roles without an employer petition to USCIS. If you qualify, raise this with Osborn's HR team early, since TN processing is significantly faster than H-1B and avoids the annual lottery entirely.
Time your H-1B application around the annual cap window
H-1B registrations open each March for an October 1 start date. If you're targeting Osborn Engineering and need H-1B sponsorship, secure your offer before the registration window closes, since missed registrations mean waiting a full year for the next lottery cycle.
Use Migrate Mate to find Osborn Engineering's open Civil Engineer roles
Sponsored civil engineering openings rarely stay posted for long. Search Migrate Mate to filter Osborn Engineering jobs by visa type and role, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than cold-applying and asking HR to verify later.

Find Civil Engineer at Osborn Engineering JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Osborn Engineering sponsor H-1B visas for Civil Engineers?
Yes, Osborn Engineering has sponsored H-1B visas for Civil Engineers. If you need H-1B sponsorship, the process requires Osborn to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and then submit a petition to USCIS. Because H-1B is subject to the annual cap and lottery, timing your offer before the March registration window is critical to avoiding a year-long delay.
How do I apply for Civil Engineer jobs at Osborn Engineering?
You can browse and apply for Civil Engineer roles at Osborn Engineering directly through Migrate Mate, which filters open positions by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm sponsorship availability before applying. When applying, highlight relevant project experience in transportation, structural, or municipal infrastructure, and proactively disclose your visa status so Osborn's HR team can confirm the appropriate sponsorship pathway from the start.
Which visa types does Osborn Engineering use to hire Civil Engineers?
Osborn Engineering has sponsored Civil Engineers on H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates, while H-1B is the standard long-term work visa for specialty occupations. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status, which bypasses the H-1B lottery and has no annual cap.
What qualifications does Osborn Engineering expect for Civil Engineer roles?
Osborn Engineering typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited program, along with hands-on experience in project delivery within transportation, structural, or infrastructure disciplines. Progress toward or completion of the FE or PE exam is a meaningful differentiator, particularly for candidates seeking sponsored roles where Osborn is investing in long-term employment.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when joining Osborn Engineering as a Civil Engineer?
Timeline depends on the visa type. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the port of entry the same day. F-1 OPT authorization typically requires 90 days of advance USCIS processing before your start date. H-1B petitions filed under the annual cap have an October 1 start date, so the gap between offer and authorized start can be several months depending on when you receive your lottery selection.
