Tailor Your Resume to NEPA and CERCLA Projects
Langan's Environmental Engineer roles frequently involve regulatory compliance and contaminated site work. Highlight hands-on experience with Phase I and Phase II ESAs, soil and groundwater sampling, or remedial action plans to stand out against candidates with purely academic backgrounds.
Confirm OPT Authorization Before Your Start Date
If you're on F-1 OPT, your Employment Authorization Document must be valid before your first day. Langan uses E-Verify, so your EAD and I-94 details must match exactly. Request your offer letter early enough to report your employer to DSO within the required 10-day window.
Ask Directly About H-1B Filing Timelines During Offer Negotiation
Langan sponsors H-1B visas, but USCIS cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. Raise the sponsorship conversation before you accept the offer so your start date and petition timeline can be structured without gaps in your work authorization.
Prepare a PE Licensure Plan for Senior Track Roles
Many of Langan's Environmental Engineer positions on the path to project management require Professional Engineer licensure. Document your FE exam status and qualifying experience hours in your application materials, since sponsors in consulting often factor licensure trajectory into long-term sponsorship decisions including PERM.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Langan Openings by Visa Type
Langan posts Environmental Engineer roles across multiple offices and project types. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for positions where your visa category is supported, so you're applying to openings that match your authorization rather than sorting through postings manually.
Understand How TN Status Works for Canadian and Mexican Engineers
If you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship, the TN visa category covers Environmental Engineers under the USMCA. TN status is employer-specific and tied to your offer letter, so any change in role scope or office location at Langan may require a new TN filing with DOL documentation.

Find Environmental Engineer at Langan Engineering and Environmental Services JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Langan Engineering and Environmental Services sponsor H-1B visas for Environmental Engineers?
Yes, Langan Engineering and Environmental Services sponsors H-1B visas for Environmental Engineer positions. If you're subject to the annual H-1B cap, your employer must file by April 1 for an October 1 start date. Langan's consulting practice structure means sponsorship decisions are typically made at the practice or regional office level, so clarify sponsorship support directly with your recruiter during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Environmental Engineer jobs at Langan Engineering and Environmental Services?
You can find and apply for Environmental Engineer openings at Langan through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters Langan's listings by visa sponsorship type so you can identify roles that match your work authorization. Langan recruits heavily from universities with strong environmental engineering programs, so campus recruiting cycles in the fall and spring are also worth targeting.
Which visa types does Langan Engineering and Environmental Services commonly use for Environmental Engineer roles?
Langan supports a range of visa categories for Environmental Engineers, including H-1B, F-1 OPT and CPT for students and new graduates, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, J-1 for exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-tenured employees. The right category depends on your nationality, degree status, and career stage.
What qualifications does Langan Engineering and Environmental Services expect for Environmental Engineer roles?
Langan typically expects a bachelor's or master's degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, or a closely related field. Practical experience with site investigation, regulatory permitting, or remediation project management is valued. Candidates pursuing H-1B sponsorship should ensure their degree field directly aligns with the role description, since USCIS evaluates specialty occupation status based on that specific match.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take when joining Langan Engineering and Environmental Services as an Environmental Engineer?
Timeline depends on visa category. F-1 OPT authorization should already be in place before your start date. H-1B cap-subject petitions require filing several months before an October 1 start, though premium processing with USCIS can reduce adjudication to a few weeks. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship, if offered, typically takes one to three years depending on your priority date and country of birth.
