Frame your credentials around infrastructure delivery
WSP's PM work sits at the intersection of engineering, environmental, and advisory services. Certifications like PMP or CAPM, combined with project lifecycle documentation across infrastructure sectors, signal direct relevance to the roles they actually hire for.
Target WSP's sector-specific business units directly
WSP organizes hiring around practice areas like transportation, water, and buildings. Applying to postings tied to a specific sector rather than generic PM openings puts your application in front of the hiring managers who control headcount and sponsorship decisions.
Confirm which visa type your role qualifies for
WSP sponsors multiple visa categories including H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT. The right category depends on your nationality and degree field. Aligning your application to the correct pathway before your first interview prevents delays once an offer is extended.
Understand the LCA requirement before your offer
For H-1B and E-3 roles, WSP's immigration team must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before your petition is submitted. Knowing this step exists means you won't misread a post-offer processing delay as a sponsorship problem.
Use OPT cap-gap rules to stay in status
If you're on F-1 OPT and WSP files your H-1B petition before your OPT expires, cap-gap protection lets you keep working through September 30 of the relevant year. Confirm your OPT end date early so WSP's team can time the filing correctly.
Search verified WSP openings through Migrate Mate
WSP posts Project Program Manager roles across multiple locations and practice areas at different times of year. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for WSP positions that confirm visa sponsorship, so you're only investing time in applications where sponsorship is already on the table.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does WSP sponsor H-1B visas for Project Program Managers?
Yes, WSP sponsors H-1B visas for Project Program Manager roles. The process involves WSP filing a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, followed by an I-129 petition with USCIS. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are subject to an annual lottery, timing your application and offer acceptance around the April filing window is important for planning purposes.
Which visa types does WSP commonly sponsor for Project Program Manager roles?
WSP sponsors several visa categories for Project Program Managers, including H-1B, E-3 visa (for Australian citizens), TN visa (for Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA), F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa classifications for permanent residence. The right category depends on your nationality, degree field, and career stage.
What qualifications does WSP expect for Project Program Manager roles?
WSP typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, environmental science, or a related technical field, along with demonstrated experience managing multi-phase infrastructure or consulting projects. A PMP certification strengthens your application. For specialty occupation visa filings, the role and degree field need to align clearly, so a directly relevant academic background matters beyond just years of experience.
How do I apply for Project Program Manager jobs at WSP?
You can browse and apply for Project Program Manager positions at WSP directly through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles that confirm visa sponsorship so you're not guessing about eligibility. When applying, tailor your resume to WSP's sector focus, whether that's transportation, water, buildings, or advisory services, and be explicit about your visa status and work authorization timeline upfront.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take at a consulting firm like WSP?
For H-1B petitions, the standard USCIS processing window runs several months, though premium processing is available for faster adjudication. E-3 and TN visas can move more quickly since they don't go through a lottery. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 typically takes one to several years depending on your country of birth and the labor market test timeline.
