Document field certifications before applying
WSP's Construction Inspector roles often require certifications like ACI, NICET, or OSHA 30 depending on the project type. Having these documented and ready to present signals job-readiness and reduces onboarding friction for a sponsored hire.
Target WSP's infrastructure and transit projects
WSP staffs Construction Inspectors heavily on public infrastructure contracts, including highway, rail, and bridge work. Filtering your applications toward these project types puts you in front of hiring managers who have the most active need and the most experience running sponsored placements.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open Construction Inspector roles
WSP posts Construction Inspector openings across multiple U.S. regions, but availability shifts with project cycles. Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for WSP roles that support visa sponsorship so you're not manually sifting through listings that won't work for your situation.
Clarify your visa type early in outreach
WSP sponsors multiple visa categories for Construction Inspectors. Naming your current status, whether F-1 OPT, TN, or H-1B transfer, early in recruiter conversations helps the hiring team route your application to the right internal team before an offer is extended.
Request LCA details once an offer is being drafted
Before your employer files your H-1B or E-3 petition, DOL must certify a Labor Condition Application confirming prevailing wage compliance. Asking to confirm the LCA is filed for the correct work location avoids delays if your project site differs from the corporate address.

Find Construction Inspector at WSP JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does WSP sponsor H-1B visas for Construction Inspectors?
Yes, WSP sponsors H-1B visas for Construction Inspector roles. Because these positions typically require a combination of a relevant bachelor's degree and specialized technical knowledge, they generally satisfy USCIS's specialty occupation standard. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, your petition would be filed in April for an October 1 start, so coordinating your offer timeline accordingly matters.
Which visa types does WSP commonly use for Construction Inspector roles?
WSP supports several visa categories for Construction Inspectors, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students in their practical training period. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, WSP has also filed under EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card categories. The right visa depends on your nationality, education, and current immigration status.
What qualifications does WSP expect for sponsored Construction Inspector positions?
WSP typically looks for a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a closely related field, combined with hands-on inspection experience on infrastructure or transportation projects. Industry certifications such as NICET, ACI, or OSHA 30 strengthen your application. For visa sponsorship, your degree field must align with the role's technical requirements to meet USCIS specialty occupation criteria.
How do I apply for Construction Inspector jobs at WSP?
You can find Construction Inspector openings at WSP through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles that support visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect project types WSP handles, such as highway, transit, or bridge inspection, and be upfront about your visa status in your cover letter or initial recruiter conversation. WSP's hiring process typically includes a technical screening followed by project-team interviews.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Construction Inspector offer from WSP?
Timeline depends on visa type. For H-1B, DOL must certify the Labor Condition Application before USCIS reviews the petition, and standard processing runs several months unless premium processing is used. E-3 and TN visas move faster since they're consular-processed and don't require USCIS petition approval. F-1 OPT extensions involve USCIS and can take up to 90 days, so filing early is essential.
