Align your credentials to Tetra Tech's contract portfolio
Tetra Tech wins federal and state contracts in environmental remediation, water infrastructure, and disaster recovery. Frame your PMP certification, scope management experience, and agency-client deliverables around those sectors before you apply.
Target roles tied to active funded contracts
Tetra Tech staffs Project Program Managers against specific contract awards. Roles attached to active task orders are more likely to move quickly through offer and filing, since the business need is already funded and approved.
Confirm your visa category fits the role classification
Tetra Tech sponsors multiple visa types for this function. Verify with your recruiter whether the role is classified as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, since that determination directly affects which petition pathway your employer can file.
Use Migrate Mate to identify Tetra Tech openings by visa type
Filter Project Program Manager roles at Tetra Tech by the visa category you hold or need. Migrate Mate lets you browse sponsorship-confirmed listings so you spend time applying to roles where your status is already an expected part of the hire.
Request LCA filing timelines before accepting an offer
DOL requires a certified Labor Condition Application before USCIS can process your H-1B petition. Ask Tetra Tech's HR team how far in advance they initiate LCA filings so your start date is realistic given prevailing wage posting and processing requirements.
Document technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams
Tetra Tech's program managers routinely coordinate engineers, scientists, and subcontractors on government-funded projects. A resume that shows cross-functional team leadership and budget oversight on complex, regulated projects strengthens both your candidacy and the specialty occupation argument for your petition.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Tetra Tech sponsor H-1B visas for Project Program Managers?
Yes, Tetra Tech sponsors H-1B visas for Project Program Manager roles. Because the position requires a specific technical or management degree tied to the scope of work, it generally satisfies USCIS specialty occupation criteria. Your recruiter can confirm whether the specific role you are hired into qualifies and when the company intends to initiate the petition.
How do I apply for Project Program Manager jobs at Tetra Tech?
Applications go through Tetra Tech's careers portal, where roles are listed by business unit and location. You can also browse open Project Program Manager positions at Tetra Tech that are confirmed to support visa sponsorship through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa type so you can focus on roles where international candidates are already expected.
Which visa types does Tetra Tech commonly use for Project Program Manager hires?
Tetra Tech supports H-1B, TN visa, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas for this role type. H-1B is the most common long-term pathway for candidates from outside Canada and Mexico. TN visa is a faster, cap-exempt option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying management or technical categories. F-1 OPT and CPT work for candidates still completing or recently finishing a U.S. degree.
What qualifications does Tetra Tech expect for a sponsored Project Program Manager?
Tetra Tech typically expects a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, environmental science, construction management, or a related technical field, combined with hands-on project management experience in government or infrastructure contracting. PMP certification strengthens your application. Roles tied to federal contracts may also require the ability to obtain a security clearance, which affects eligibility for candidates on certain visa types.
How long does the sponsorship process take once Tetra Tech extends an offer?
Timeline depends on which visa type applies. For H-1B, DOL LCA certification takes up to seven business days, followed by USCIS petition processing of three to six months in regular processing or two to four weeks with premium processing. TN status for Canadians can be granted at the port of entry on the day of travel. Starting the conversation about your visa category early in the interview process helps avoid delays.
