Frame Your Engineering PM Credentials Clearly
BKF Engineers hires Project Program Managers to oversee civil engineering and land development projects. Tailor your resume to highlight PMP certification, infrastructure project delivery, and client-facing consulting experience before you apply.
Target BKF's Active Regional Offices
BKF operates across multiple California offices and expanding markets. Research which offices are actively hiring for Project Program Manager roles, as sponsorship decisions are often tied to specific regional workloads and pipeline demand.
Understand EB-2 and EB-3 Filing Timelines
Employment-based Green Card sponsorship through PERM requires your employer to complete a DOL labor market test before filing. This process often takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the petition, so plan accordingly.
Raise Sponsorship During the Offer Stage
In consulting firms, sponsorship decisions typically happen during offer negotiation, not after. Once you have a strong fit signal from the hiring manager, ask directly whether the Project Program Manager role is eligible for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to Find Open Roles
Searching generalist job boards often misses roles where sponsorship is confirmed. Use Migrate Mate to browse Project Program Manager openings at BKF Engineers that are specifically tagged for visa sponsorship, saving time on unqualified applications.
Document Professional Licensure and Project Scale
BKF frequently works on large-scale civil and land development projects. For EB-2 eligibility, gather documentation of your professional engineering license, project budgets you have managed, and any published technical contributions before your employer initiates PERM.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does BKF Engineers sponsor H-1B visas for Project Program Managers?
BKF Engineers' publicly documented sponsorship activity for Project Program Managers has focused on employment-based Green Card categories, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, rather than H-1B visa nonimmigrant visas. If you are currently on H-1B status with another employer, you may be able to transfer to BKF while pursuing a Green Card concurrently, but confirm the company's current H-1B policy directly with their hiring team during the offer process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Project Program Manager roles at BKF Engineers?
BKF Engineers has sponsored Project Program Managers through the EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories. EB-2 generally requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability in a specialty field like civil engineering or project management. EB-3 covers professionals with a bachelor's degree. Both pathways require the employer to complete a PERM labor certification through the Department of Labor before filing with USCIS.
What qualifications are expected for Project Program Manager roles at BKF Engineers?
BKF Engineers typically looks for candidates with a background in civil engineering, land development, or infrastructure consulting, combined with demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams. A PMP certification strengthens your profile. For sponsored roles, your degree field should align with the specific position, since PERM and EB-2 petitions require a direct connection between your education and the job duties being performed.
How do I apply for Project Program Manager jobs at BKF Engineers?
You can browse open Project Program Manager positions at BKF Engineers on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles with confirmed visa sponsorship history. Once you identify a relevant opening, apply through BKF's careers portal with a resume that highlights project delivery experience specific to civil engineering consulting. During the interview process, address your visa status early so there are no delays in the offer stage.
How do I plan my timeline if BKF Engineers sponsors my Green Card?
Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 at a consulting firm like BKF involves multiple sequential steps. Your employer must first file a PERM application with the DOL, which can take 12 to 18 months. USCIS then processes the I-140 petition, and if your priority date is current, you can file for adjustment of status or consular processing. Total timelines vary significantly based on your country of birth and current visa backlogs.
