Align your credentials with NEPA and state permitting
GHD's environmental practice leans heavily on regulatory consulting work. Before applying, document project experience tied to NEPA compliance, CERCLA remediation, or state-level environmental permitting, since these credentials directly match the work GHD wins contracts to deliver.
Target GHD's infrastructure and energy practice areas
GHD staffs Environmental Project Managers across infrastructure, water, and energy sectors. Searching by practice area rather than job title alone surfaces openings that may not appear under a single keyword, giving you a wider view of where the hiring is actually concentrated.
Use Migrate Mate to filter GHD environmental openings by visa type
GHD posts Environmental Project Manager roles across multiple regions. Use Migrate Mate to filter open positions by the visa categories GHD actively sponsors, so you can prioritize applications where your authorization pathway is already supported.
Get your professional engineer licensure process started early
GHD regularly lists PE licensure as preferred or required for Environmental Project Manager roles. If you are on F-1 OPT, use your practical training window to accumulate the supervised work experience hours required to sit for the PE exam before your authorization period ends.
Clarify TN eligibility before your final round interview
Canadian and Mexican nationals can pursue TN status for Environmental Engineer roles without waiting on an H-1B lottery. Confirm with the hiring manager early that the role's duties map to a qualifying TN occupational category, since job titles alone do not determine TN eligibility.

Find Environmental Project Manager at GHD JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does GHD sponsor H-1B visas for Environmental Project Managers?
GHD does not appear in recent USCIS H-1B disclosure data as a consistent H-1B sponsor for Environmental Project Manager roles. The visa types GHD has actively sponsored for this function include EB-2, EB-3, TN, F-1 OPT, and J-1. If H-1B sponsorship is a requirement for your situation, clarify the available pathways directly with GHD's recruiting team before progressing through the interview process.
How do I apply for Environmental Project Manager jobs at GHD?
Applications go through GHD's careers portal, where roles are listed by practice area and region. Tailor your resume to reflect project management experience on environmental consulting engagements, including scope, budget, and regulatory deliverables. Migrate Mate aggregates GHD's open Environmental Project Manager positions and filters them by visa sponsorship type, so you can quickly identify which openings align with your work authorization needs before applying.
Which visa types does GHD commonly use for Environmental Project Manager roles?
GHD has sponsored Environmental Project Managers through EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, F-1 OPT for recent graduates, F-1 CPT for students completing degree requirements, TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and J-1 for exchange visitors. The right pathway depends on your nationality, degree level, and where you are in the immigration process. TN and OPT typically move fastest; PERM-backed EB routes require a longer timeline.
What qualifications does GHD expect for Environmental Project Manager positions?
GHD's Environmental Project Manager postings typically require a bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, civil engineering, or a related field, plus several years of consulting or project delivery experience. Familiarity with environmental impact assessment, remediation project management, and agency coordination is consistently listed. Professional Engineer licensure or active pursuit of licensure is frequently preferred, and PMP certification strengthens candidacy for larger project portfolios.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a GHD environmental role?
Timeline depends on the visa type. F-1 OPT authorization can be in place within a few months of graduation. TN status for Canadians can be granted at the port of entry on the day of travel.
