Align your credentials to STV's project scope
STV works primarily on civil and infrastructure projects, so position your PE license, PMP, or relevant engineering credentials front and center. U.S.-recognized certifications carry more weight here than industry awards or general management experience.
Target STV's regional offices strategically
STV's Engineering Manager openings are distributed across multiple U.S. offices tied to active project pipelines. Applying to a location with a funded transportation or water infrastructure contract improves your chances of a fast-moving requisition with real headcount.
Clarify your OPT or TN status early in conversations
STV sponsors multiple visa categories, including F-1 OPT and TN. If you're already in the U.S. on OPT, flag your STEM extension eligibility upfront so the recruiter can plan the H-1B filing timeline around your current authorization expiration.
Understand the PERM timeline for EB-2 and EB-3 paths
If STV offers to sponsor a Green Card, the PERM labor certification process through DOL typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS receives your petition. Engineering Manager roles at consulting firms often qualify, but prevailing wage determinations can affect offer structure.
Browse open Engineering Manager roles through Migrate Mate
STV posts Engineering Manager positions across multiple job boards, making it easy to miss relevant openings. Use Migrate Mate to filter for STV roles that explicitly support visa sponsorship, so you're only spending time on applications where international candidates are genuinely considered.
Prepare for a multi-round technical and leadership assessment
STV's hiring process for Engineering Managers typically includes both a technical review and a leadership interview focused on project delivery outcomes. Come prepared with examples of managing cross-disciplinary teams on infrastructure projects, as client-facing accountability is a recurring evaluation criterion.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does STV sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Managers?
Yes, STV sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Manager roles. Given the specialized technical and managerial expertise required for large-scale infrastructure projects, these positions typically meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard. If you're already in the U.S. on another status, your recruiter will coordinate with STV's immigration counsel to assess whether a change of status or consular processing is the right path.
How do I apply for Engineering Manager jobs at STV?
You can apply directly through STV's careers portal or find their open Engineering Manager roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight project leadership on infrastructure, transportation, or built environment work. STV's process typically includes an initial recruiter screen, a technical interview, and a leadership-focused panel before an offer is extended.
Which visa types does STV commonly use for Engineering Manager roles?
STV sponsors H-1B, TN visa, J-1 visa, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Engineering Manager positions, and also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for long-term hires. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles. For candidates on F-1 OPT, STV can bridge from OPT to H-1B if the timing aligns with the annual USCIS cap-subject filing window each April.
What qualifications and experience does STV expect for Engineering Manager candidates?
STV's Engineering Manager roles typically require a bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, electrical, or a related engineering discipline, with a Professional Engineer license strongly preferred for client-facing positions. Relevant experience managing multidisciplinary project teams on transportation, water, or infrastructure programs carries significant weight. Senior-level candidates with program management credentials such as PMP tend to stand out in STV's consulting environment where client delivery accountability is central.
How do I time my application around the H-1B cap filing window?
USCIS opens H-1B cap registrations in March each year for an October 1 start date. If STV extends you an offer in late spring or summer after the lottery has closed, you'd typically begin on a different authorized status and transition to H-1B the following fiscal year. Coordinating your offer timeline and current visa status with STV's HR team well in advance of the March window gives both sides the clearest path forward.
