Tailor your resume to infrastructure projects
Arcadis sits at the intersection of engineering and technology consulting. Software Systems Engineer roles often support asset management, GIS platforms, or digital twin projects, so framing your experience around systems integration in built-environment contexts strengthens your application significantly.
Ask recruiters about LCA job site coverage
Arcadis operates across multiple client sites and regional offices. During the offer stage, confirm that the Labor Condition Application filed with DOL reflects the actual location where you'll work, since mismatches between LCA worksite and your physical location are a common compliance issue at consulting firms.
Find open Software Systems Engineer roles on Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to browse Software Systems Engineer positions at Arcadis filtered by visa type. This saves time you'd otherwise spend manually cross-referencing job boards with DOL disclosure data to confirm which roles have an active sponsorship history.
Position yourself for EB-2 or EB-3 early
Arcadis sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas. If a Green Card is your long-term goal, raise it during the offer negotiation stage rather than after onboarding. PERM labor certification timelines at professional services firms can stretch to two years or more, so starting the conversation early matters.
Prepare documentation that supports specialty occupation
For H-1B petitions, USCIS scrutinizes whether a Software Systems Engineer role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Have your official transcripts, any professional engineering credentials, and a clear description of your degree-to-role alignment ready before your employer files Form I-129.

Find Software Systems Engineer at Arcadis JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas for Software Systems Engineers?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas for Software Systems Engineers. The company also files for H-1B1 holders, making it an option for Chilean and Singaporean nationals. Because Arcadis is a large consulting firm, it files H-1B petitions regularly and has an established immigration process, though individual role eligibility still depends on the specific job duties and your qualifications.
How do I apply for Software Systems Engineer jobs at Arcadis?
Applications go through Arcadis's careers portal at arcadis.com. You can also find open Software Systems Engineer positions at Arcadis filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify roles where sponsorship has been offered before. Tailor your application to highlight systems integration experience relevant to infrastructure or consulting environments, which aligns with how Arcadis deploys this role.
Which visa types does Arcadis commonly use for Software Systems Engineers?
Arcadis sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for temporary work authorization, and also supports TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles. For students, the company has a history of working with F-1 OPT and CPT candidates. J-1 visa holders in exchange visitor programs are also supported. On the immigrant side, Arcadis pursues EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for employees on longer-term career tracks.
What qualifications does Arcadis expect for Software Systems Engineer roles?
Most Software Systems Engineer roles at Arcadis require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field. For H-1B purposes, the degree must align directly with the role's duties. Arcadis consulting projects frequently involve systems architecture, cloud platforms, or geospatial tooling, so relevant technical depth in those areas strengthens both your application and the specialty occupation determination USCIS requires.
How do I time my application around H-1B cap deadlines?
The H-1B cap lottery registration opens in March each year, with an October 1 start date if selected. If you're on OPT and your EAD expires before October 1, you'll need a cap-gap extension to keep working legally during that window, which USCIS automatically provides when your employer files a timely H-1B petition. Starting your job search at Arcadis by December or January gives enough runway to complete hiring and file before the March registration window closes.
