Frame your credentials around specialty occupation standards
Business Consultant roles at Arcadis must qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules. Position your degree in a specific discipline, such as engineering, urban planning, or environmental science, directly against the role's technical requirements in your resume and cover letter.
Target Arcadis practice areas that match your background
Arcadis organizes work around distinct practices including water, environment, buildings, and mobility. Applying to openings that align your consulting background with one of these verticals sharpens your case for both hiring managers and the DOL Labor Condition Application process.
Search open Business Consultant roles through Migrate Mate
Arcadis posts Business Consultant openings across U.S. markets at different seniority levels. Use Migrate Mate to filter active roles by visa sponsorship eligibility so you're only pursuing positions where Arcadis has confirmed it will support your application.
Clarify sponsorship scope before accepting an offer
Some employers sponsor H-1B but stop short of Green Card support. Ask Arcadis recruiters directly whether the offer includes PERM-based permanent residence sponsorship, since Business Consultants on long project cycles benefit from knowing the full pathway upfront.
Prepare for LCA prevailing wage scrutiny at your work site
Arcadis deploys consultants to client sites, which can trigger secondary DOL prevailing wage requirements tied to the physical work location rather than your office address. Confirm which site your role is based at before your employer files the Labor Condition Application.
Use your OPT period to build a project record at Arcadis
F-1 OPT gives you up to 12 months, with a 24-month STEM extension if your degree qualifies. Starting at Arcadis during OPT lets you accumulate project delivery experience that directly strengthens your H-1B specialty occupation evidence when your employer files.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Arcadis sponsor H-1B visas for Business Consultants?
Yes, Arcadis sponsors H-1B visas for Business Consultant roles. The company operates across infrastructure and environmental consulting, functions that regularly support specialty occupation filings. Arcadis also sponsors H-1B1 visa, TN visa, and F-1 OPT candidates, making it a viable employer if you need visa support to work in the U.S. in a consulting capacity.
How do I apply for Business Consultant jobs at Arcadis?
Applications go through the Arcadis careers portal, where roles are listed by practice area and location. Before applying, research which Arcadis vertical your consulting background fits best, whether water, environment, buildings, or mobility, and tailor your application to that practice. Migrate Mate lists active Arcadis Business Consultant openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility, which saves you time identifying the right positions.
Which visa types does Arcadis commonly use for Business Consultant roles?
Arcadis sponsors several visa categories for Business Consultants, including H-1B, H-1B1 visa for eligible nationals, TN for Canadian and Mexican citizens, F-1 OPT and CPT for students, J-1 visa for exchange visitors, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 classifications. The most common path for full-time hires is H-1B, with PERM-based sponsorship available for permanent residence.
What qualifications does Arcadis expect from Business Consultant candidates?
Arcadis typically looks for a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant technical or professional discipline, such as civil engineering, environmental science, urban planning, or business with a quantitative focus. Consulting experience tied to infrastructure or environmental projects carries significant weight. For visa purposes, the degree must directly relate to the specific role, so a general business degree alone may not satisfy H-1B specialty occupation requirements without supporting project experience.
How do I think about timing if I need Arcadis to file an H-1B for me?
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed once per year, with USCIS accepting registrations in March for an October 1 start date. If you miss a lottery cycle, you'll wait another year unless you qualify for a cap-exempt route. Starting in an F-1 OPT or TN status first, then transitioning to H-1B, is a common way to join Arcadis without waiting for the next registration window.
