Who We Are
Boston Consulting Group partners with leaders in business and society to tackle their most important challenges and capture their greatest opportunities. BCG was the pioneer in business strategy when it was founded in 1963. Today, we help clients with total transformation— inspiring complex change, enabling organizations to grow, building competitive advantage, and driving bottom-line impact.
To succeed, organizations must blend digital and human capabilities. Our diverse, global teams bring deep industry and functional expertise and a range of perspectives to spark change. BCG delivers solutions through leading-edge management consulting along with technology and design, corporate and digital ventures—and business purpose. We work in a uniquely collaborative model across the firm and throughout all levels of the client organization, generating results that allow our clients to thrive.
As a member of the North America (NAMR) People Analytics (NPA) team, you’ll be at the heart of NAMR’s People Team efforts, acting as an analyst and enabler for our clients (Senior Leadership and teams under the NAMR CHRO). You will support the delivery of transformational analytics solutions and high-quality quantitative reporting, utilizing tools like Python, SQL, and GenAI to help transform and automate People Team reporting and processes.
Your work will directly contribute to BCG’s high-visibility People initiatives, advancing key business priorities for NAMR. In this role you will execute across a variety of workstreams, with the ability to manage competing priorities under the guidance of senior team members. Successful candidates will be intellectually curious, detail-oriented contributors who bring analytical rigor and a passion for using data to drive decisions. You will jump in across a wide variety of projects, often as the “doer” who brings analysis to life, pilots a concept, or supports a larger product effort. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting timely and accurate cadenced reporting and ad-hoc quantitative and qualitative analyses for People Team leaders and Senior Leadership
- Partnering with People Team members to understand their business priorities and translate them into analytics questions and structured hypotheses
- Contributing to process improvement, optimization, and automation initiatives in partnership with functional leaders, leveraging a diverse toolkit (e.g., SQL, Python, GenAI Tools, Microsoft Suite) to support product delivery
- Building compelling data visualizations for stakeholders, ranging from slide writing to dynamic dashboards that surface actionable insights
- Participating in Agile analytics product development: Supporting requirements gathering, sprint delivery, testing, and documentation
- The responsibilities of the role will evolve over time as BCG’s data requirements grow and evolve
What You'll Bring
- A Bachelor’s degree
- 2 - 4 years of progressive experience in an analytical or data-focused role
- Fluency in core aspects of data management, including data collection, aggregation, manipulation, analysis, visualization, and documentation
- Experience working across various systems and data sources (including Workday, SAP, or similar HR/financial platforms) is an asset
- Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and privacy best practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present analytical findings to functional stakeholders
- A client-focused mentality, collaborative spirit, and eagerness to learn and grow
- Commitment to privacy requirements and concerns around people data, and dedication to documentation best practices
The following reflects additional behaviors and capabilities we’re looking for in a candidate:
Problem Solving & Insight
- You structure analysis logically, breaking complex problems into manageable components and planning clear next steps
- You review your output with a critical lens, ensuring your conclusions are grounded in logic and supported by evidence
- You approach change with an open mindset and demonstrate flexibility when priorities shift
- You articulate insights in clear, plain language, tailoring the level of detail to your audience
Analytics and Emerging Technology Skills
- Strong understanding of analytical concepts and comfort working with large, complex datasets across multiple systems and sources
- Curiosity about and growing familiarity with Generative AI tools and their application to analytics and business processes

- Experience in streamlining and consolidating reporting workflows while identifying areas for process improvement
- Experience using or experimenting with GenAI capabilities (e.g., responsible LLM-assisted analysis, prompt engineering, AI-powered automation) to enhance productivity and insight generation
Effectiveness & Value Creation
- You independently complete your assigned tasks, proactively identifying next steps and flagging blockers early
- You deliver consistent, high-quality output, checking your work carefully before submitting and escalating when needed

Who You'll Work With
You’ll work on the Business Analytics & Enablement Cadre within the NPA Team, which also includes a Data Science Cadre. Cadres combine deep industry expertise with innovative skillsets in consulting, business analytics, computer science, artificial intelligence, statistics, and machine learning. We drive transformational impact to the NAMR People Team by framing business challenges, building a single source of truth, distilling the highest-impact analytics opportunities, designing innovative analyses and algorithms, training colleagues on new solutions, and delivering impact by ensuring our work is valuable, user-oriented, equitable, scalable, and maintainable.

Frame your degree for specialty occupation
BCG Business Consultant roles typically require a bachelor's or advanced degree in a specific field like economics, business, or engineering. Make sure your credentials clearly tie your academic background to the analytical or strategic work the role demands.
Target BCG's structured recruiting cycles
BCG recruits Business Consultants heavily through on-campus programs at target universities. If you're on F-1 OPT, align your application timeline with fall and spring recruiting seasons so your OPT window overlaps with the H-1B cap filing period.
Search open Business Consultant roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate surfaces BCG Business Consultant listings filtered by visa sponsorship type, so you can identify which openings are active and sponsorship-eligible before you apply rather than discovering eligibility late in the process.
Clarify your visa category before offer negotiations
BCG sponsors multiple visa types for Business Consultants, including E-3 for Australians and TN for Canadians and Mexicans. Knowing which category applies to you before your offer conversation prevents delays and ensures the right petition gets filed on time.
Understand BCG's H-1B cap timing constraints
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS registration opens in March with an October 1 start date. BCG's offers for Business Consultants often come months earlier, so confirm during the offer stage that your start date aligns with petition timelines.
Prepare your case materials before BCG initiates filing
Once BCG's immigration team opens your petition, they'll request degree certificates, transcripts, and employment verification quickly. Having certified translations of foreign documents and an updated CV ready shortens the filing window and reduces back-and-forth delays.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Boston Consulting Group sponsor H-1B visas for Business Consultants?
Yes, BCG sponsors H-1B visas for Business Consultants. Because Business Consultant roles require specialized degree-level knowledge in fields like economics, business administration, or a related discipline, they qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria. BCG works with immigration counsel to handle the petition process, but cap-subject H-1B candidates need to plan around the USCIS lottery registration window in March.
How do I apply for Business Consultant jobs at Boston Consulting Group?
Applications go through BCG's careers portal, but the most effective path for visa-sponsored roles is to apply during active recruiting cycles. BCG recruits Business Consultants heavily on campus and through referrals. You can browse open Business Consultant positions at BCG filtered by sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify which listings are actively hiring international candidates.
Which visa types does BCG sponsor for Business Consultant roles?
BCG sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for Business Consultants, along with E-3 visas for Australian nationals and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals. F-1 OPT and CPT are also supported for students transitioning into full-time roles. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and where you are in the immigration process.
What qualifications does BCG expect for Business Consultant candidates needing visa sponsorship?
BCG generally expects a bachelor's degree from a strong academic institution, with many Business Consultant hires holding degrees in economics, engineering, mathematics, or business. For visa purposes, the degree field needs to connect directly to the consulting work you'll perform. Advanced analytical skills, case interview performance, and evidence of structured problem-solving carry significant weight in the selection process.
How does the visa sponsorship timeline work after receiving a BCG offer?
After an offer is extended, BCG's immigration team typically initiates the visa process promptly. For H-1B cap-subject candidates, the petition must align with the October 1 start date, so offers are often structured around that constraint. For E-3 and TN candidates, processing is generally faster since those categories aren't subject to an annual cap or lottery.
