Frame Your Credentials Around Specialty Occupation Standards
Walker Consultants will need to show USCIS your Business Consultant role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Before applying, document how your degree directly ties to the consulting discipline you'd be practicing, whether that's infrastructure analysis, facility planning, or operational strategy.
Target Open Roles Aligned With Your Visa Timeline
Walker Consultants posts Business Consultant openings across multiple practice areas at different seniority levels. If you're on F-1 OPT, prioritize roles with start dates that fit your authorization window and confirm with HR upfront that they can initiate an H-1B petition before your OPT expires.
Understand How TN Status Applies to Consulting Roles
If you're Canadian or Mexican, TN classification is available for management consultant roles and doesn't require an H-1B. Walker Consultants sponsors TN visas, so clarify with the recruiting team early whether your specific Business Consultant duties map cleanly to the DOL's management consultant category.
Prepare for a PERM-Based Green Card Conversation Early
Walker Consultants sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, which require PERM labor certification through the DOL. Ask during the offer stage whether the company initiates PERM for the specific Business Consultant level you're being hired into, since eligibility often depends on role seniority.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Relevant Business Consultant Openings
Walker Consultants lists Business Consultant positions across multiple locations and specializations. Use Migrate Mate to filter by visa type and role so you can identify the right openings to pursue without manually sorting through listings that don't match your sponsorship needs.
Clarify Petition Timing Before Signing an Offer Letter
H-1B petitions are subject to the annual cap with an April 1 filing window and an October 1 start date. If Walker Consultants makes you an offer outside that cycle, confirm whether they'll file for the next available cap period or whether cap-exempt options apply to your situation.

Does Walker Consultants sponsor H-1B visas for Business Consultants?
Yes, Walker Consultants has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Business Consultant roles. Because consulting positions typically require a degree in a specific discipline tied to the work, they generally satisfy USCIS specialty occupation criteria. You'll want to confirm sponsorship availability for the specific role level and location when you speak with their recruiting team.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Consultant roles at Walker Consultants?
Walker Consultants sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and employment-based Green Cards including EB-2 and EB-3 for Business Consultant roles. H-1B is the most common path for degree holders transitioning from OPT. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose consulting duties align with the DOL's management consultant classification.
What qualifications does Walker Consultants expect for Business Consultant roles?
Walker Consultants focuses on consulting across infrastructure, parking, transportation, and facility planning. Business Consultant candidates are typically expected to hold a relevant bachelor's degree and have experience in project analysis, client engagement, or a technical consulting discipline. Roles vary by seniority, so review the specific job description to gauge the experience level and practice area focus.
How do I apply for Business Consultant jobs at Walker Consultants?
You can browse and apply for Business Consultant positions at Walker Consultants through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can identify roles that fit your work authorization situation. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight the consulting discipline most relevant to Walker Consultants' practice areas, and address sponsorship needs directly in your cover materials rather than waiting until the interview stage.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing an H-1B role at Walker Consultants?
If you're on F-1 OPT, Walker Consultants would need to file your H-1B petition during the registration window in March for an October 1 start date. That means securing an offer ideally by late winter. If you're selected in the lottery, USCIS premium processing is available to get a faster decision, which is worth discussing with the employer during offer negotiations.
