Align your credentials with U.S. construction standards
If your degree or professional licensure comes from outside the U.S., get a formal equivalency evaluation before applying. Gordian's construction roles often require demonstrated familiarity with U.S. building codes and cost data methodologies, so document that experience explicitly in your resume.
Target Gordian's facility and cost data teams
Gordian's construction hiring centers on cost estimating, facility lifecycle planning, and RSMeans data products. Frame your application around quantitative construction experience rather than field execution, since those analytical roles are where international sponsorship tends to occur in Electronics and Hardware environments.
Understand how TN status works for construction roles
If you're Canadian or Mexican, the TN visa category covers certain engineering and technical roles that overlap with construction functions. Confirm your specific job title maps to an approved TN occupation before your offer stage, because a mismatch will require an H-1B petition instead.
Confirm your OPT timeline before accepting an offer
F-1 OPT gives you 12 months of work authorization, with a 24-month STEM extension if your construction-related degree qualifies. If your OPT expires before Gordian's next H-1B cap season, discuss a cap-exempt filing option or a start-date deferral with your hiring contact before signing.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open construction roles at Gordian
Gordian posts construction positions across multiple job types, and not all are open to sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Gordian's visa-sponsoring construction roles so you're only spending time on positions where your work authorization situation is already a fit.
Prepare for PERM timing if you're pursuing a Green Card
If Gordian supports EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship for your construction role, PERM labor certification requires DOL to verify no qualified U.S. workers were available. That process typically runs six months to over a year, so raise the permanent residency question during offer negotiation, not after you've started.

Find Construction at Gordian JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Gordian sponsor H-1B visas for Construction roles?
Yes, Gordian sponsors H-1B visas for Construction roles. The H-1B requires your position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field like construction management, civil engineering, or a related discipline. Gordian's construction work tends to be analytical and data-focused, which supports the specialty occupation standard that USCIS applies.
How do I apply for Construction jobs at Gordian?
You can find Gordian's open Construction positions through their careers page or by using Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles where visa sponsorship is available. When applying, tailor your resume to Gordian's focus on cost data, facility management, and construction analytics. Flag your visa type clearly in your application so the recruiting team can assess sponsorship fit from the start.
Which visa types does Gordian commonly use for Construction roles?
Gordian has sponsored H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for construction-related positions. H-1B is the most common route for degreed professionals. F-1 OPT and CPT work well for recent graduates entering construction data or estimating roles. TN is an efficient option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical positions.
What qualifications does Gordian expect for sponsored Construction roles?
Gordian's construction roles in the Electronics and Hardware space typically require a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a closely related field. Practical experience with cost estimating, RSMeans data, facility lifecycle analysis, or construction project controls is valued. For USCIS specialty occupation purposes, your degree field should align directly with the duties of the specific role you're applying for.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Construction role at Gordian?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B has an annual cap with a lottery that runs in March for an October 1 start date, so planning at least six months ahead is essential. TN processing is faster and can often be completed at the port of entry. Green Card sponsorship through PERM typically takes one to two years or more from initiation, and should be discussed with Gordian's HR team early in the offer process.
