Align your credentials to U.S. standards
If your engineering or construction management degree came from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before applying. Gordian's hiring process for this role expects US-equivalent qualifications, and unverified credentials create friction at the offer stage.
Target Gordian's hardware facility projects directly
Gordian's Construction Manager openings are concentrated around electronics and hardware infrastructure builds. Search for postings tied to data center fit-outs, semiconductor facility expansions, or manufacturing plant upgrades, where your specialized MEP or cleanroom coordination experience will be most relevant.
Confirm sponsorship eligibility before your first interview
Gordian sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT candidates, but sponsorship decisions are role-specific. Clarify in your initial recruiter screen which visa types Gordian will support for the specific Construction Manager requisition you're applying to, not the company generally.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship type
Gordian posts Construction Manager roles across multiple locations and project types. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Gordian openings that list your visa category as sponsored, so you apply to requisitions already confirmed for your authorization pathway.
Prepare for PERM documentation early in the offer process
If Gordian pursues an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card for your role, the PERM labor certification through DOL requires documented proof that no qualified U.S. worker was available. Keep records of your specialized experience in construction management for electronics facilities, as this specificity supports the prevailing wage and recruitment audit.
Protect your status during project-based work gaps
Construction Manager roles often involve transitions between project phases or contracts. If your employment ends before a new project starts, your H-1B grace period is 60 days. Coordinate with Gordian's HR team to ensure any new petition or amendment is filed before that window closes.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Gordian sponsor H-1B visas for Construction Managers?
Yes, Gordian sponsors H-1B visas for Construction Manager roles. Because H-1B sponsorship is tied to a specific position and location, you'll need a formal offer for a qualifying role before Gordian can file the petition with USCIS. Construction management in electronics and hardware facilities typically meets the specialty occupation standard required for H-1B approval.
How do I apply for Construction Manager jobs at Gordian?
Search for open Construction Manager positions on Gordian's careers page or through Migrate Mate, which lets you filter Gordian's listings by visa sponsorship type. When you apply, be upfront about your visa requirements in the initial screen. Gordian's recruiting process for this role moves through a technical interview, project portfolio review, and then offer and sponsorship discussion.
Which visa types does Gordian commonly use for Construction Manager roles?
Gordian sponsors H-1B, TN visa, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT candidates for Construction Manager positions, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employees. TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role qualifies under USMCA occupation categories. F-1 OPT and CPT are typically used for early-career candidates joining project teams before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship.
What qualifications does Gordian expect for a sponsored Construction Manager role?
Gordian's Construction Manager roles in the electronics and hardware sector require a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a closely related field, along with hands-on experience managing large-scale commercial or industrial builds. Familiarity with MEP systems, cleanroom construction standards, or data center projects strengthens your application significantly. PMP certification or equivalent is frequently listed as preferred.
How long does the sponsorship and visa filing process take after an offer from Gordian?
Timeline depends on the visa type. H-1B petitions filed under regular processing take three to six months for USCIS adjudication; premium processing reduces that to 15 business days. If you're on F-1 OPT, you can start work immediately while the H-1B is pending under the cap-gap rule. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship runs 12 to 24 months or longer before the EB-2 or EB-3 petition stage.
