Build a portfolio around brand narratives
Nike's communications team prioritizes candidates who can demonstrate culturally resonant storytelling at scale. Before applying, curate portfolio pieces that show experience shaping brand voice across digital, social, and earned media channels for consumer-facing campaigns.
Target roles tied to global marketing initiatives
Communications openings at Nike often sit within specific brand categories like Jordan, Nike Running, or Nike Women. Applying to category-specific roles rather than generalist ones signals domain fluency and increases your chances of reaching a hiring manager who owns sponsorship decisions.
Verify your visa type matches the role level
Nike sponsors multiple visa categories for Communications, including H-1B, E-3, and TN. The right path depends on your nationality and seniority. A senior strategist role will support a different petition structure than an entry-level position, so clarify this before your offer stage.
Align your OPT timeline with Nike's hiring cycle
Nike's corporate hiring tends to accelerate in the first quarter ahead of major campaign seasons. If you're on F-1 OPT, calculate your authorization end date against that window. USCIS requires H-1B cap petitions to be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start.
Request written sponsorship confirmation before negotiating compensation
Nike's talent acquisition team handles sponsorship approvals above the recruiter level. Once you receive a verbal offer, ask explicitly whether the role is approved for your visa category before discussing salary. Compensation discussions stall when sponsorship eligibility hasn't been confirmed internally.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Nike Communications openings by visa type
Not every Nike Communications posting is open to international candidates requiring sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter actively sponsored roles so you're only investing time in applications where your visa status is already accounted for by the employer.

Find Communications at Nike JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Nike sponsor H-1B visas for Communications roles?
Yes, Nike sponsors H-1B visas for Communications positions. These roles generally qualify as specialty occupations because they require at least a bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field. Nike works with immigration counsel to file petitions, but H-1B cap-subject roles are subject to the annual lottery, so timing your application cycle matters.
How do I apply for Communications jobs at Nike?
Search Nike's careers site directly, or use Migrate Mate to browse Nike Communications openings filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. Tailor your application to the specific brand category or communications function the role sits within. Nike's recruitment process typically includes a portfolio review, a recruiter screen, and multiple rounds with the communications team before an offer.
Which visa types does Nike commonly sponsor for Communications positions?
Nike sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Communications roles. Australian citizens can pursue the E-3, which has no lottery and allows two-year renewable status. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify under TN for roles that map to eligible USMCA occupation categories.
What qualifications does Nike look for in Communications candidates who need sponsorship?
Nike typically expects a bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or marketing for H-1B and E-3 eligibility. Beyond credentials, hiring teams prioritize candidates with demonstrated experience in brand communications, media relations, or content strategy, particularly within consumer lifestyle, sports, or fashion and apparel contexts where Nike operates.
How do I know how long Nike's sponsorship and visa filing process will take?
H-1B petitions filed under regular processing take three to six months for USCIS adjudication. Premium processing reduces that to 15 business days. E-3 consular processing can move faster, often within four to eight weeks of an offer. Nike's legal team manages filing logistics, but you should account for LCA certification with the DOL before the main petition can be submitted.
