Frame your portfolio around brand narratives
Nike evaluates Marketing candidates on cultural fluency and campaign storytelling, not just channel execution. Before applying, restructure your portfolio to show how your work drove brand perception or audience connection, not just clicks or conversions.
Target roles tied to specific product lines
Nike's Marketing org is divided by category: running, basketball, sportswear, and women's. Applying to a role aligned with a category you have genuine experience in makes a stronger case and helps hiring managers justify sponsorship for a specialized skill set.
Verify your OPT or CPT timeline before applying
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility and remaining authorized period. Nike does hire OPT candidates, but the offer-to-start timeline for Marketing roles can stretch several weeks, so misaligning on work authorization dates stalls the process.
Understand the LCA wage requirement for your level
Nike must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before sponsoring an H-1B, certifying your offered salary meets the prevailing wage for your role and location in Oregon or New York. Research DOL wage data for your target job title so you can evaluate offers accurately.
Raise sponsorship after demonstrating fit, not before
Nike's recruiting team makes sponsorship decisions after assessing candidate quality. In your initial conversations, lead with your Marketing expertise and category knowledge. Once you're in late-stage interviews, ask HR directly which visa types they support for the role.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Marketing roles by visa type
Searching Nike's general careers page doesn't filter by sponsorship eligibility. Migrate Mate lets you browse Nike's open Marketing positions specifically tagged to the visa types you qualify for, so you spend time on roles that are actually accessible to you.

Find Marketing at Nike JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Nike sponsor H-1B visas for Marketing roles?
Yes, Nike sponsors H-1B visas for Marketing positions. The process requires Nike to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL and then submit a petition to USCIS. Because the H-1B is subject to an annual lottery for cap-subject candidates, timing matters. Nike typically initiates sponsorship for roles classified as specialty occupations, which most professional Marketing positions qualify as.
Which visa types does Nike commonly sponsor for Marketing positions?
Nike sponsors a range of visa types for Marketing roles, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students currently enrolled or recently graduated. They also support Green Card pathways through EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-tenured employees. The right visa depends on your nationality, education, and career stage.
What qualifications does Nike expect for sponsored Marketing roles?
Nike generally expects a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field for H-1B and E-3 sponsorship, since those visas require a qualifying specialty occupation. Beyond credentials, Nike's Marketing team looks for experience in brand strategy, consumer insights, or digital marketing within fashion, sportswear, or consumer lifestyle categories. Agency backgrounds and campaign ownership are common signals hiring managers look for.
How do I apply for Marketing jobs at Nike?
You can browse and apply for Marketing roles at Nike directly through their careers site or through Migrate Mate, which filters open Nike positions by visa type so you can identify roles that match your authorization. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect Nike's brand-driven culture and include specific campaign outcomes. If you need sponsorship, confirm the visa type you need before your first recruiter conversation so there are no surprises late in the process.
How do I plan my timeline around Nike's H-1B sponsorship process?
The H-1B cap lottery opens in March each year, with approved petitions taking effect October 1. If Nike extends you an offer and you need a new H-1B, they would need to file your registration in March for a start date six months later. Factor that into your job search timing. If you're transferring an existing H-1B, Nike can file a cap-exempt petition and you can start sooner, often within a few weeks of USCIS receiving the petition.
