Align your portfolio to Google's marketing disciplines
Google hires Marketing specialists across performance, brand, and go-to-market functions. Structure your portfolio around measurable outcomes in those areas, because generalist marketing credentials are harder to position as a specialty occupation during H-1B adjudication.
Target roles that require a specific degree field
USCIS requires that H-1B specialty occupation roles mandate a degree in a specific field, not just any bachelor's. Marketing roles at large tech companies that require degrees in marketing, communications, or business analytics are better positioned for sponsorship than open-ended ones.
Research Google's open Marketing roles on Migrate Mate
Browse current Marketing openings at Google that are tagged for visa sponsorship using Migrate Mate. Filtering by role function lets you identify which teams are actively hiring and which job titles align with your visa category.
Raise sponsorship early in recruiter conversations
Google's recruiting process for Marketing roles can move quickly through multiple interview rounds. Confirming sponsorship eligibility with your recruiter before the final round avoids late-stage complications when the offer and filing timeline are already compressed.
Understand how Google files your H-1B Labor Condition Application
Before Google can petition USCIS, it must file a certified Labor Condition Application with the DOL confirming your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your role and location. The LCA is employer-filed, but knowing this step exists helps you ask the right questions about timeline.
Plan your start date around H-1B cap timelines
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. Roles at Google's major offices may qualify for cap-exempt filings if connected to a qualifying institution, but most Marketing hires go through the standard lottery cycle.

Find Marketing at Google JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Google sponsor H-1B visas for Marketings?
Yes, Google sponsors H-1B visas for Marketing roles on a regular basis. The company's global hiring model means it routinely files H-1B petitions for specialized marketing positions across brand, performance, and product marketing. Your role must qualify as a specialty occupation, which generally requires a degree in a specific field directly related to the job duties.
How do I apply for Marketing jobs at Google?
You apply through Google's careers portal, but finding roles that explicitly support visa sponsorship takes extra filtering. Migrate Mate aggregates Google's open Marketing positions and flags which ones are open to sponsored candidates, saving you time on roles that won't move forward. Once you apply, expect multiple interview rounds covering marketing strategy, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.
Which visa types does Google commonly use for Marketing roles?
Google sponsors H-1B visas for most Marketing hires requiring sponsorship. Australian citizens may be eligible for the E-3 visa, which has a separate annual cap and no lottery in most years. Specialty or senior-level Marketing professionals with sustained recognition may also explore the O-1A, though that pathway requires demonstrating extraordinary ability through documented achievements.
What qualifications does Google expect for sponsored Marketing roles?
Google's Marketing roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in marketing, communications, business, or a closely related field. Beyond credentials, expect hiring managers to look for demonstrated experience with data-driven campaigns, familiarity with Google's own advertising and analytics products, and evidence of impact at scale. Roles at the senior level often require cross-functional leadership experience in a technology or platform environment.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Google Marketing hire?
For cap-subject H-1B petitions, the process starts with a March lottery registration for an October 1 start date, meaning total lead time from offer to authorized work can exceed six months. Standard USCIS processing after filing typically runs three to five months. Premium processing, which Google may elect to use, reduces the USCIS adjudication window to 15 business days but does not change the October 1 cap date for new cap-subject filings.
