Position your background around technical marketing
Datadog markets to developers and engineering teams, so framing your experience around product-led growth, developer relations, or technical content signals immediate fit. Resumes that show B2B SaaS or cloud infrastructure marketing experience move faster through Datadog's hiring process.
Verify your role qualifies as a specialty occupation
USCIS requires H-1B roles to meet specialty occupation standards. For Marketing, this typically means your job description centers on a specific discipline requiring a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, not a generalist role where any degree suffices.
Target roles that align with your current status timeline
If you're on F-1 OPT, map Datadog's hiring cycle against your OPT expiration. Datadog files H-1B petitions for the April cap season, so securing an offer by February gives your employer enough runway to prepare the petition before the March registration window opens.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Datadog's open Marketing roles
Searching for visa-friendly Marketing roles across job boards is inefficient. Migrate Mate filters specifically for employers with verified sponsorship histories in Marketing, so you can focus your applications on Datadog positions already flagged as sponsorship-eligible rather than guessing.
Understand how the Labor Condition Application affects your offer
Before USCIS can adjudicate your H-1B petition, your employer files an LCA with DOL certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing wage for your role and location. Ask your recruiter which wage level the role is pegged at during offer negotiations, not after.
Clarify sponsorship scope before signing an offer
Some employers sponsor H-1B status changes but won't commit to Green Card sponsorship through PERM. Ask Datadog's recruiter directly whether the Marketing team supports EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship for long-term hires so you're not caught off guard two years into the role.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Datadog sponsor H-1B visas for Marketings?
Yes, Datadog sponsors H-1B visas for Marketing roles. The company has an active sponsorship track record across its go-to-market functions, including product marketing and demand generation. If you're currently on F-1 OPT or another nonimmigrant status, Datadog can file an H-1B petition on your behalf through the annual April cap season, subject to the lottery.
How do I apply for Marketing jobs at Datadog?
Apply directly through Datadog's careers page and filter by Marketing. Tailor your application to show experience marketing technical products to developer or engineering audiences, since that's Datadog's core buyer. Migrate Mate also lists Datadog's open Marketing roles with sponsorship context, so you can see which positions are actively being filled before submitting.
Which visa types does Datadog commonly use for Marketing hires?
Datadog sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for Marketing roles, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates. TN status is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations. For longer-term immigration, Datadog has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for Marketing employees, typically initiated after a period of full-time employment.
What qualifications does Datadog expect for sponsored Marketing roles?
Most Marketing roles at Datadog require a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a technical field. For specialty occupation H-1B purposes, the degree must be directly related to the role. Practically, Datadog prioritizes candidates with B2B SaaS experience, familiarity with product-led growth motions, and comfort working alongside technical sales and product teams.
How do I time my job search if my OPT is expiring soon?
If your F-1 OPT expires before October 1, you need an H-1B cap-gap or an approved change of status to stay work-authorized through the transition. Datadog typically begins H-1B preparation in the first quarter of the year for the April filing window. Starting your application process at least four to five months before your OPT end date gives both you and the employer enough time to prepare.
