Frame your PM experience around technical depth
Datadog hires PMs who can speak fluently with engineers building monitoring and observability products. Tailor your resume and portfolio to show you've owned technically complex roadmaps, not just coordinated feature requests.
Verify your visa type matches Datadog's sponsored categories
Datadog sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT among others. Before applying, confirm your current status or intended visa type is one the company actively files for, so you're not surprised at the offer stage.
Target PM roles tied to platform or infrastructure products
Datadog's open PM headcount skews heavily toward platform, integrations, and enterprise product lines. Positioning yourself for those teams signals alignment with where the company invests its sponsorship budget most consistently.
Prepare your specialty occupation documentation early
H-1B petitions for PM roles require demonstrating that the position is a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Gather your degree credentials, transcripts, and any evaluation letters before your employer initiates the I-129 filing.
Use Migrate Mate to find open PM roles at Datadog that explicitly sponsor
Search Migrate Mate's job board to filter for Product Manager openings at Datadog that are tagged for visa sponsorship. It saves you from applying to roles where sponsorship is listed as optional or excluded for your visa type.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer negotiation stage
Ask your recruiter whether the offer covers H-1B transfer costs, premium processing fees, and Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3. Datadog's stance on employer-paid legal fees can vary by team and location.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Datadog sponsor H-1B visas for Product Managers?
Yes, Datadog sponsors H-1B visas for Product Manager roles. The company has a documented pattern of filing H-1B petitions for technical and product functions. If you're already on an H-1B with another employer, Datadog can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start working as soon as the petition is received by USCIS without waiting for approval.
How do I apply for Product Manager jobs at Datadog?
Apply directly through Datadog's careers page and filter by the Product Management function. You can also browse verified PM openings at Datadog tagged for visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which filters out roles where sponsorship isn't available. Tailor your application to Datadog's product areas, specifically observability, infrastructure monitoring, or enterprise integrations, to improve your chances of clearing the initial screen.
Which visa types does Datadog sponsor for Product Manager roles?
Datadog sponsors several visa categories for Product Managers, including H-1B, H-1B1 visa for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for students. For longer-term immigration, Datadog also sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways, which is relevant if you're thinking beyond your initial work authorization.
What qualifications does Datadog expect from Product Manager candidates?
Datadog's PM roles typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field, which also supports the specialty occupation standard USCIS uses to evaluate H-1B petitions. Beyond credentials, Datadog looks for PMs with experience owning technically complex products, working closely with engineering teams, and understanding cloud infrastructure, APIs, or developer tooling at a practical level.
How do I think about visa timing when targeting a Product Manager role at Datadog?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm how much time remains before your employer needs to initiate an H-1B cap-subject petition. The H-1B lottery opens in March for an October 1 start date, so a gap between OPT expiration and H-1B activation is possible. Students in STEM fields can apply for a 24-month OPT extension, which provides additional runway. Confirm these timelines with Datadog's immigration counsel before accepting an offer.
