Frame Your SaaS Sales Experience Precisely
Datadog BDM roles require documented success in outbound prospecting and pipeline generation within technical or SaaS environments. Before applying, quantify your metrics in cloud, DevOps, or infrastructure segments so your resume maps directly to their go-to-market motion.
Confirm Sponsorship Willingness Before Final Rounds
Ask directly whether the specific BDM headcount is approved for sponsorship before you reach offer stage. Datadog hires across regions and not every open role carries the same sponsorship authorization, so confirming early saves time on both sides.
Understand Which Visa Category Fits Your Background
Datadog sponsors multiple work visa types for this function. If you hold F-1 OPT, you can start while the H-1B petition is filed. TN status applies if you're Canadian or Mexican and your role meets DOL specialty occupation criteria for business development.
Time Your Application Around H-1B Cap Deadlines
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March each year for an October 1 start date. If you're targeting Datadog BDM roles that require cap-subject sponsorship, aim to have an offer finalized by late February to allow employer preparation time.
Use Migrate Mate to Target Datadog BDM Openings
Filtering for visa-sponsoring employers in the technology sector saves hours of manual research. Use Migrate Mate to surface active Business Development Manager roles at Datadog that are open to sponsored candidates before roles fill internally.
Prepare Your Degree Equivalency Documentation Early
H-1B specialty occupation petitions require USCIS to accept that business development qualifies under the role's degree requirement. Gather your transcripts, credential evaluations, and any professional certifications before the offer stage so your employer's attorney can build the petition without delays.

Find Business Development Manager at Datadog JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Datadog sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Managers?
Yes, Datadog sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Manager roles. The company has a consistent track record of filing petitions for this function across its sales and go-to-market teams. If you're in H-1B status with a prior employer, Datadog can file an H-1B transfer, letting you start work as soon as USCIS issues a receipt notice under portability rules.
How do I apply for Business Development Manager jobs at Datadog?
Apply directly through Datadog's careers page, filtering by 'Business Development' or 'BDR/BDM' under the Sales category. Tailor your resume to highlight outbound pipeline generation, SaaS prospecting experience, and familiarity with cloud or observability products. Migrate Mate also lists active sponsored openings at Datadog, letting you confirm sponsorship eligibility before you apply.
Which visa types does Datadog commonly use for Business Development Manager roles?
Datadog sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for most BDM hires, along with TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles. F-1 OPT and CPT are supported for recent graduates earlier in the hiring pipeline. For longer-term pathways, Datadog has pursued EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for employees in this function.
What qualifications does Datadog expect for a sponsored Business Development Manager?
Datadog typically looks for a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, combined with demonstrated success in outbound sales or business development at a SaaS or cloud company. Familiarity with DevOps, monitoring, or infrastructure tooling is a strong differentiator. For H-1B purposes, your degree and job duties need to align closely enough to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements.
How do I think about timeline when pursuing a sponsored BDM role at Datadog?
If you need a new H-1B and aren't currently in status, plan around the annual cap cycle: USCIS registration opens in March, selection happens in April, and the earliest start date is October 1. If you're transferring an existing H-1B or using OPT, the timeline compresses significantly. Build in at least four to six weeks between offer acceptance and your employer's attorney completing the petition package.
