Align your background to Apple's ecosystem strategy
Apple's Business Development teams focus on partnerships across hardware accessories, developer ecosystems, and enterprise channels. Frame your experience around channel development, go-to-market strategy, or platform partnerships rather than generic sales or account management.
Verify your specialty occupation documentation early
USCIS scrutinizes Business Development roles closely on H-1B petitions. Gather documentation showing your degree is directly tied to the analytical, strategic, or technical scope of the role before you receive an offer.
Target Apple's enterprise and channel BD teams specifically
Apple hires Business Development Managers across distinct functions including reseller channels, carrier partnerships, and enterprise accounts. Applying to the right sub-team improves fit signals and increases the likelihood that your sponsorship petition aligns tightly with your credentials.
Understand how Apple files LCAs before your start date
Apple must certify a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before your H-1B or E-3 petition can be filed. This certification takes several business days, so factor that lead time into your negotiated start date during offer discussions.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Business Development Manager roles at Apple
Searching broadly misses roles where Apple is actively sponsoring. Migrate Mate filters Business Development Manager openings at Apple by visa type so you can target positions where sponsorship is already confirmed and move faster on applications.
Prepare for a longer hiring timeline if you need PERM
If you're pursuing a Green Card through an EB-2 or EB-3 category, Apple's PERM recruitment process requires DOL-supervised advertising before filing. Raise your long-term immigration goals with your recruiter before accepting an offer so timelines can be planned realistically.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Apple sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development Managers?
Yes, Apple sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development Manager roles. Because Business Development positions can attract USCIS scrutiny over specialty occupation status, Apple's immigration team typically builds a strong documentation package linking the role's analytical and strategic requirements to a specific degree field. Having a directly relevant educational background strengthens your petition considerably.
How do I apply for Business Development Manager jobs at Apple?
Apply directly through Apple's careers site, where Business Development Manager openings are listed by team and location. You can also browse roles filtered by visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which surfaces Apple Business Development positions where sponsorship is confirmed. Tailoring your resume to reflect partnership development, ecosystem strategy, or go-to-market experience improves your screening outcome.
Which visa types does Apple typically use for Business Development Manager roles?
Apple sponsors H-1B and H-1B1 visas for Business Development Managers, along with the E-3 visa for Australian citizens and TN visa status for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying categories. For longer-term permanent residency, Apple also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. F-1 OPT and CPT candidates are also considered, particularly for earlier-career or rotational BD roles.
What qualifications does Apple expect for a Business Development Manager with visa sponsorship?
Apple's Business Development Manager roles typically require a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, economics, or a related field, along with demonstrated experience in partnerships, channel strategy, or platform ecosystems. For H-1B sponsorship purposes, your degree field needs to align directly with the role's requirements. Candidates with hardware, software, or enterprise technology backgrounds are most competitive given Apple's product portfolio.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Business Development Manager at Apple?
For H-1B transfers or cap-exempt cases, Apple can file and receive approval in a few weeks with premium processing through USCIS. For cap-subject H-1B petitions, you're subject to the annual lottery in March with an October 1 start date, a roughly six-month gap. E-3 and TN processing is faster, often resolved at a consulate within a few weeks of receiving your offer documentation.
